Iv'ing helping with nausea?

I looked around in the method of administration threads and didn't really find any definitive answers. So, if this needs to be moved somewhere, please do so mods.

I have a friend who, for whatever reason, always throws up when orally dosing. MDMA, PEAs, pretty much everything makes him puke. More than once. He's not on any other medications, he's a healthy guy, just for some reason he can't handle eating chems.

So, I was considering suggesting to him when I go to visit and we have a PEA trip that he maybe think about IV'ing. Now, this is a guy who has never done any hardcore drugs and certainly never IV'ed anything before (me either). So I think it might be kind of a touchy subject to bring up.

However, if he's open to the idea (and I plan on getting well read up on administering doses intravenously) I was just wondering if it would help with his nausea? I just think it'd be nice for him to finally have a trip where he didn't have to fight with his stomach and be planted over the toilet before he can get right.

PEA's are weird IV'ed. see the pihkal entry for 2C-C - very short, overwhelmingly intense. MDMA IV'ed has been described by other posters here as too intense as well.

Have you considered rectal dosing (plugging)? >.>

IVing is probably not suitable for PEAs, particularly in inexperienced user.

Mh, there's slight risk of increased health hazards in IVing (other than easier to OD) in that it makes the substance pass most of metabolism, thus it may have more toxins left in it, especially if the stuff's unpure like MDMA often might be, depending on your source.

If that doesn't matter, from all I've gathered, yes. It should help the nausea. Snorting is another that has helped me tremendeously. I still get nausea, but it's much milder and never includes vomiting, except if I'm hungover - even if I did vomit, oops, a bit too late to cancel now. :)

Have you tried chems in juice or so, or only pills?

Yeah, personally I've never had problems with nausea. I might get a very slight stomach discomfort but it quickly passes. My buddy pukes up on anything. Doesn't matter whether it's mixed in juice, eaten, whatever.

I've snorted PEAs before, but the burning sensation is akin to hot magma being pumped through my nose. I don't know whether that's from me not snorting other chems a lot to build a tolerance or whether the PEAs are just particularly nasty that way. So I don't really want to recommend that route for him.

I've also plugged PEAs and had great success that way. Still, the one time I casually brought it up with my friend and his buddy whom I was tripping with, they both gave me a weird look and said they weren't going that way. I'm a bit older than they are so maybe I've matured more to be comfortable enough to stick a pill up my bum, but I think these guys are still a bit homophobic about their own tail ends.

IV'ing does seem a bit extreme to me, but I figured it was the easiest way to avoid all the discomforts and still have a strong trip.

And just as an aside, I'd never IV and would never suggest IV'ing MDMA. I'm only talking about IV'ing tested 2c compounds. So I think the toxicity thing won't be a problem.

I'ving definitely isn't the answer as its such a strange roa for psychedelics. Its supposed to be very intense and most of the time not very enjoyable. Does your friend continuously vomit or is it only once? If its only once just tell him to get over it(95% of the time phens cause me to vomit) however I could see it being a bad anxiety causing thing if he has to puke multiple times. Like others have suggested there's otc medicines that he could take which will at least reduce the nausea and vomiting. The only other thing he could do is I.M. it. Most people don't enjoy that roa either though. Also as far as IV'ing 2c's goes from what i've heard its like snorting it except its even more intense and your tripping hard within seconds so I don't think thats what your friend would be looking for.

IV removes the nausea from 2C-T-7, 2C-B, etc. for me. I prefer this route of administration for just the reason you're thinking of.

Yeah, if it was just a one throw-up and he's fine situation I wouldn't even bother with it. Just, sometimes he tends to go on these vomit sprees where it's 3-5 times during the course of the trip. It's always worst on MDMA for him, but he gets the same problem with phens to a certain extent.

What OTC medicines would be best? I always thought that stuff like Pepto coated the inside of your stomach and didn't let you absorb anything through your stomach lining, which would kill an oral dose, right?

I would give dramamine or benadryl a try before jumpig to IV.

There are risks involved with using needles, and someone without experience or an experienced guide can cause some serious problems for himself without safe injection technique.

Very good points.

I think I'll see if I can convince him to give plugging a shot or taking some meds. Personally, while I'm not biased as far as "needles are bad mmmkay?", IV'ing still scares the crap out of me. Especially if I was having to do it for someone else.
