Hi guys. Just curious, where I live, [somewhere] (just near [somewhere] for those who are confused.) I have alot of connections, but still no good decent strains, people here don't even keep track of strains and all of that, they buy whatever they can not giving a shit what it is:|. I don't tend to care about strains, and anything else anymore, because I can't get my hands on anything like that, so its just the normal old indica "street bud":(. It would be good to have weed actually legalized in atleast one state in Australia, Canberra doesn't really count as being legalized, because its not, only prescribed to people in significant pain.:p

Whats the go?

Yo traps, im in sydney and i'll think you'll find in other states that what your getting is commercially grown with heaps of additives and other nasty chems added to it in the name of pure profit.

These growers will harvest early, not flush properly, not dry properly and recently just found out that about 1/4 of aus seems to be smokin adulterated weed.

Ive never known any of my dealers to know the strain, and even if they do say it's something, 99% of the time there just saying that so you buy there stuff.

Unless you buy your own, or know some one who buys legit seed's and grows them out homegrown style your gonna be stuff with the average stuff floating around, with no name.

Yeah. With a couple of my dealers, we usually have a chop, and chat about this really, they know more then me, so half of what they are saying I don't get. I know my dealers CAN get decent strains, but not from Newcastle, not from Sydney, it would have to be a trek and a half for decent strains, unless you had a trustworthy dealer that would drive it. Tbh, this is my first basic look into strains, would be good to learn more about it, but at the same time get it.

This is so true.

I've always thought most of the dealers made up the strain on the spot to you. I've bought some nice marijuana, in my non-medical marijuana state, and have never believed shit about any strain:

"You man, I got this 'orange kush, bublegum haze hybrid' mannnnn."

Bullshit you do; you have well grown marijuana that you could call any fucking thing and people would smoke it. I've been sold "donkey dick" and all kinds of weird names. I'm pretty sure I've even seen donkey dick seeds for sale on websites. I always wondered whether the site took the name from a well known street name, or the reverse, the dealer from the site.

The only place I'd think would be reliable on the given names are:

a. coffee shops/cannabis stores
b. medical marijuana dispensaries/collectives
c. an ACTUAL FRIEND (read:not dealer) who bought the seeds from a reliable source.


Option C. could still be iffy based on the reliability of the source. I mean, who will ever be able to prove any one wrong that their ak-47 has the same exact genetics as some one else. Even if you could decode the genetic makeup, who the hell wants to do this?

Just smoke your good bud, and call it what it is.
 
yes and no. i edited it earlier, because i wrote something down the bottom that was in a way trying "to acquire drugs." not technically though, he was just being a dick.

Different strains of marijuana are just different cultivars of the plant.

There are only three species, but really only two that are smoked; indica, and sativa.

All strains of marijuana are only different cultivars of either species, or hybrids of both.

I don't believe you can tell 'pineapple walrus kush' from 'apesnake bubblegum blueberry spin'? Can you?

You don't mean to say that they know more than you so half of what they say you don't have put into your hand?
 
It's kind of the same thing around my area, most dealers don't even realize there's a whole grower community out there, to be fair though they sell to feed their families and shit and are not any kind of "connisuer", which is fine by me cause the concept of a drug connisuer 8). That being said when ever good shit comes in I know it's really only good good upper mids or around there, based on what I've read and seen on BL and other places. Seems like any time something good comes in its always "northern lights" too :p.

I've pissed some dealers off when I told them to shut the fuck up with the BS and just sell me the weed.

It's likely just an issue of me not knowing the right people, but it's still fucked up what gets sold as "good" around here. I guess if I was a stoner it would be more of an issue.

I just reread this shit. I wasn't talking to you in the post directly above this quoted one. I was talking to the other guy who says that he llets his dealer know what's up with the different strains he has.

Predicting the quality by looking at it, and smoking/vaporizing it is one thing. Telling him "what strains he's got" on his hands, is not possible. I promise.

WTF is going on.

i mean when he gets some quite obviously strains, like big bud is easily identifiable along with white widow, purple haze, blueberry haze.

BTW my dealer is more of a mate than someone i buy pot off.

and what made you think i was just looking at the pot? he always shouts me few cones so i know what im smokin before i get it.

I know very well that most people who smoke cannabis can tell the potency or quality by looking at it and smoking it. I don't dispute you can do this. I never said anything about you only looking at it.

Just because a plant has "bigger buds" does not mean that it is a specific strain.

In fact, in my experience, the three names you claim to be able to differentiate between, have been attributed to every different strain of every kind of cannabis known, and probably even 'legal' highs that aren't cannabis.

"Wow this shit's is covered in crystals, it must be White Widow!"

"OMG this shit has a purple tint.....kinda.... ever so.... slightly... Purple Haze!"

"This shit ain't that that crystal covered, or purple, but if you focus all of your consciousness being on the flavor, IT'S DAT BLUEBERRY HAZE"


Please tell me the main difference between blueberry haze and blueberry kush?
 
while im not baked, what i ment was i dont get half of the shit they rabble on about(nor do i care) would be worthwhile looking into it tho, but yeh, and at teh same time getting it put into my HAND.
