An inexperienced, usually young, psychedelic user saying they WILL NEVER have a bad trip is similar to an inexperienced driver saying he will never have a serious auto accident. I feel that you are not an experienced driver till ur first car gets totally---ur fault or not. And so I feel you r not a truely experienced tripper till u struggled thru a bad trip or two.
I find this too, but I like it, for me it's what gives the mushroom experience a lot of its value. I don't feel I've had a complete trip without a rocky start; it's dealing with the problems that lets you learn and grow as a person.I actually almost always have a bad trip on shrooms the first few hours after I take it, than it takes meditation and usually transforms into a very insightful trip.

It seems to me that there is an ideal window of time to take psychedelics, which seems to be about ages 16-26. Any earlier, and your mind hasn't seen enough of the world/ isn't developed enough, and any later the ego has already begun to solidify and be more resistant to psychological change.
That is not, however, to say that any mind after a certain age is incapable of changing. Change is possible at any point in life.
The sweet spot is the reflection period... the period of mind-reorganization after being the receiver of knowledge as a child, and before being a giver of knowledge as an adult.
Me, I'm 20 :D
It could bring out mental health issues that they have no knowledge about.
it depends on the kid, really, usually they're not that smart so they take acid or whatever because they want to "trip balls, man!!"
I like this thread... Im 18 and have been using psychs for a half a year probably dropped around 40 times. I agree with bickoma lucy has taught me to live in the moment and appreciate life. It has had positive effects on all aspects of my life, it has taught me to trust myself and just relax. no regrets about dosing as a teen.
You've tripped almost twice a week for six months. Of course you feel all lovey dovey right now. Come back when you've started digesting the material that your trips have brought to surface and see if your new found confidence was built on solid ground or just delusion.
From my experience, with doing psychedelics as a teenager, and seeing teenagers do psychedelics, ive concluded that it can go either way. If the time is right in the person's life, and their mind is in the right place, psychedelics can aid in the development of their identity. While on the other hand, it can make them somewhat out of touch and detached. This is completely contingent on their ability to integrate the experience and their level of awareness before and after taking the psychedelic
