Would you use more or less weed if it were legal?

That's why I wrote "use" instead of smoke in the title. I'm a big fan of cooking with it myself. So do you eat any now or are you worried about the penalties?

I do not want to get arrested for possession but I haven't eaten or smoked herb in 5 years.

Work and other things keep me very busy and I decided to take a bit of a break since I'd smoked herb on and off for 9 years. I remember getting a very bad flu and I coughed up lots of nasty stuff. Not blood but it was still not pretty to look at.

For a period of time I did get bad anxiety and panic attacks and herb did not cause them but I did get help for them and figure out what was causing them and I stopped smoking for two years then.

If I had access to good herb that was decriminalized or legal herb, or even lower/mid-grade herb and I could find an easy way to eat herb without it making me so high that I can't move for hours and I get confused and black out I'd do it.

Or maybe I'd just get a vaporizer and try to keep the use of it to once or a few times a month or just weekends and try not to get trapped into the easy habit of smoking multiple times daily and staying blazed all the time during the day and night?

I never could or really did drive while I smoked even when I smoked multiple times daily so if herb were decriminalized or legal I would not drive if I was high.

I hate driving while high. I always manage to convince myself that I don't know how to drive - while I'm driving - then I freak out because I'm driving and I (supposedly) don't know how to. I know how stupid this sounds. Well, is. But I dunno...that's just what happens to me. So I wouldn't drive high even if it was legal.

I would grow, plain and simple.
I don't think I would smoke as much, I don't think I would smoke at all after a few months of it being legal, because honestly, it would get very boring, very easily if you had it in your hands all the time.

I do have it in my hand most of the time, but it being legal? that would be utterly out of control, it would become just like cigarettes, you could go pick up a packet of joints from the local store, and most probably made by cigarette company's, etc, and then it would be fucked around and they would put more chemicals in it.

I say NO to legalization, keep it legal in some areas around the world, but my opinion will stay the same regardless..

Not to mention growers around the world, holy fucking shit.
I also think if it became legalized, there would be more crime, weed isnt going to be sold by your average guy down the street who has connections, theyll end up becoming an ice junkie and selling ice to kids.

Haha

and most probably made by cigarette company's, etc, and then it would be fucked around and they would put more chemicals in it.

This is a common argument I hear but its based mostly in fear. First off do you honestly believe that some drug dealers don't already put more chemicals than you'd want to know about on the plant in order to get a bigger harvest?

Just like with cigarettes some companies would be tempted to try and improve on mother nature. But just like cigarettes you could by all natural, or organic, etc. Stoners aren't big on just putting anything into their body so I imagine that there would be a much larger market for the natural buds.

Medical pot makes it legal so, you can have as much medicine as you need. Grow whatever you need and never have to hassle with anything related to pot. A different life really.

I'd guess maybe 33-50% more, but I'm not a heavy smoker so that's not a whole lot more really.

I'm still broke half the time either way so I don't see the amount I smoke changing or increasing were it to become legal.

I'm surprised no medical marijuana smokers/patients (or people from the Netherlands or anywhere else it is decriminalized) have chimed in yet, so I guess I am a good example/case study.

Anyway, my marijuana intake did not change one bit when I got my medical marijuana card - I don't see any reason why it would. It simply gave me increased peace of mind (not that it was big deal to Johnny Law in California to begin with), allowed me to to buy from a dispensary, and carry large amounts legally, while having zero impact on my usage - I literally smoked just as much/as often as I did before.

If weed were legal, why would you all continue to buy it instead of growing your own?

probably a little more, but not much. availability doesn't really limit my use so much as procrastinating on my trips to the dealer. these days i'll smoke a lot when i first get a bag, then try and conserve for a few more days to put off the hassle of calling around and picking up.

if it was as easy as a trip to the liquor store (and there was an increase in variety/quality), then i'd probably smoke more for a little while. but then, as usual, i'd spend too much money and start getting bored/boring and it would go back to the level i've maintained for probably the last five years.

that.

i would use the same amount, but i would have much, much more on hand. mostly in the form of living plants.

I don't know if your question was directed towards me Coolio, but most people that I know in CA with medical cards do buy it, as they are entirely clueless to the growing process or simply do not have the resources to do so (dirt, water, and light).

Even for people who grow their own, the dispensaries are always worth a stop for the other things they sell - novelties, hash, edibles, t-shirts, what-have-you. I never grew my own but a few of my friends did, so thats just as good (easier, actually), so most of the time it came from them, but I would still occasionally stop at dispensaries for random shit.

Anyway, of course I agree, anyone who can grow their own should. My area allowed for 12 plants, 6 mature, but many allow as many as 99 plants, and in some circumstances, there is no limit (I don't know how, but I've seen it, and it was legal). Buying when you can grow your own legally is just burning cash.

I thought that people who didn't grow it and went to dispensaries had to worry about parents, landlords, roommates, spouses, etc. who fear and prohibit illegal drugs on their property. I thought it was a privacy issue. The people I know with medical marijuana cards in CA don't grow just because they aren't allowed to where they live.

I would smoke a bit less, unless the legally sold stuff had alot of different choice in stains, if i could choose between sevral types that i could see and smell before hand, id go loony!
