Hey dudes,

I'm trying to compile a list of the best clubs and venues around the country for electronic music, specifically four on the floor stuff. What's the best place to go in your area?

you're paranoid lol

I work for a small label out of NYC. I want to put together a list of venues to contact about tour dates, bookings, etc. for our artists.

what kind of music is this label, because there are different type of places for different types of peoples tastes...Rap , House, Jungle, Breaks,Hardstyle..... and ect....

For house, my two favorite clubs in Los Angeles are the King King and Playhouse. I just like the king king for the intimate atmosphere, It's not exactly big but it's good enough for us househeads. The Playhouse is pretty big. It's pretty cool cause one of the bars is right beneath where the dj's spin.

ill move this over to N&SASADD, it's more suited for that forum as this discuss electronic music, but rather electronic music clubs.

past venues which was best in the south imo was state palx e thether in new orleans. sadly dea ra ided the place in 02- or 03 and a few years later it was closed down

heres a crowd shot of the place back when this place was packed up every month or 2

In Salt Lake City, Area 51 is the only decent 18+ club that plays EDM. We have a busy rave scene here, so usually all the EDM fans head to Area when there isn't a rave going on. It's fairly busy, a couple hundred people on a Friday night. Lots of drugs and always a great vibe.

There's also a club called The Venue which holds very large events every couple of weeks. But it's dead whenever there isn't a heavily promoted event being held on that night.

san francisco: if you're looking for some of the larger capacity mainstream clubs that book 4/4 lineups, check out 1015 folsom, ruby skye, mighty, the mezzanine, and maybe vessel. also maybe dna lounge if they ever sort out the bullshit with the abc and their liquor license.

This is way better than trying to google cities individually.

Plant Music is the name of the label that I work for. Check us out (and download some free tracks while you're at it).

We're doing pretty well locally in NYC, but we have artists from all over the world and want to get them playing out as much as possible. Thanks so much, and please keep the posts coming. Do any of you DJ at these clubs?

I am going to post from a electronic music point of view cuz thats what I like :)

Seattle, Washington

Best club: The Showbox at the Market or the Showbox at Sodo, but they mainly have non-electronic actc. They are bringing Bassnectar, Mark Farina, Paul Van Dyk, and some other acts over the next three months. Chop Suey and Neumo's have similar lineups, but are smaller.

21+ Clubs that have techno somewhat regularly in combo with hiphop(usually one room of each, and the techno can be house, trance, or drum and bass)
The Last Supper Club
Trinity
The Copper Cart Cafe
Heaven
See sound lounge

Clubs that often have 18+ shows: (various techno, lots of hardcore/happycore/hardstyle)
Motor
King Cat
Jumbo

Smaller Clubs that are in Bars:
Contour (Breakbeats on sundays, dubstep on fridays)
Temple billiards (Drum and bass on saturdays)
Baltic (Drum and bass tuesdays)
Re-bar (House on sundays)
Waid's (psytrance once a month)
Noc noc (darkwave/goth, has some techno once in a while)
Lo-Fi
Nectar - don't do much electronic any more
Tost - don't do much electronic any more

Undergroundish club/venues with a great vibe (in my opinion):
Electric tea garden
Church of bass
Space
Little red studio

see www.nwtekno.org for more info on seattle and portland shows, they have all the electronic music listings.

WaMu theatre sometimes has giant rave shows (i.e. Daft Punk played there, and they are bringing Tiesto there soon.... who apparently is playing some dubstep now?!?! wtf?)

There is a boat called the Islander that has regular electronic music parties on it (about once a month, go from 8-2)

Overall, my favorite club right now is probably Contour. One of my faves used to be Element, but it closed down and got renovated, and is now some stupid hiphop club i think.

Maybe someone else can fill in the portland info?

We don't have much of anything, but one night a week the Partisan has djs. They also have live bands and stuff like that on other nights. Sometimes the bands are really good. MY bar has a jukebox.

That looks just like a club in the UK that used to be called the opera house.
