[VIC] Rainbow Serpent Festival 2010 - Jan 25, 2010 - Beaufort REVIEWS!!!!

Where to start?

Baysie, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me get to rainbow and the awesome camp set up which made escaping the heat much easier than years gone by! I also send my love to your beautiful other half

Katmeow, thanks for organizing the meet up. My mind state wasn't the best for the friday meet up but you get that on the big jobs. I kept getting lost trying to find your camp, we will have to hang more next year

Psychosynthesis, great to hang with you again mate. It was good to see you main stage for the sunday sunrise when it was truly pumping.

Doctor War, it was a pleasure helping you with the last leg of your journey and after getting to know you I would do it again in a heart beat! Glad you enjoyed your first rainbow

Andyturbo, it was awesome to meet you and your mates. Glad you enjoyed your time at rainbow and I hope to see you again now that you have an idea of whats needed in your doof inventory.

Last but not least, drugfukkdrockstar and will_rave. Instant friends! I wish you made it to the early sunday D floor madness DFRS, there is always next year and the little time we did spend chatting/dancing was more than worthy. Will, it was insanely awesome being your partner in crime on sunday. Those few hours of pure PLUR and the later tranq moon walk were beyond words.

Much love to anyone I missed and sorry to those I never ran into

Well where do I start?

First of all it was our first RSF and we had an awesome time! Met some cool people and managed to catch up with a few of you there.

Low point of the weekend - our lift to Rainbow and back to Sydney decided at the last minute to go back to Melbourne for a week and left earlier than originally planned to top it off. We were lucky he grudgingly gave us back a third of our money and a lift to Southern Cross station to spend the night while we waited for the first bus back to Sydney. Another person who had come down with us wasn't so lucky and was left there to find out we'd already left when he came to check later that afternoon after we'd gone that we were still leaving at 6am the next day (which is what we were originally told). Had we'd known the prick was going to pull a stunt like that earlier in the day we could of found another ride home. But 1hr notice is a bit off and bad karma is no doubt coming this pricks way.

Anyway,
Im not going to let the drama of getting home spoil what was a really great weekend and Im looking forward to heading back next year.
 
hey SK, sorry to hear about your bad luck, sounds like the KUNT, shouldn't have been at Rainbow anyway doing that shit.

Hope you enjoyed your first Rainbow experience and had a great time while you were there.
 
When it came to booking our bus tickets we looked like hell and were like sorry about our appearance we just got dumped here late last night and couldn't afford a room at a hostel. The nice lady at the Greyhound bus booth must of felt sorry for us as she gave us a special rate for our tickets home :)

RSF was fantastic and Im glad we went :)

And it really was refreshing and humbling meeting you all, i couldn't think of a place I'd rather be.
Feel like I lingered far too long on it before throwing off my rainbow virginity :D

Looking forward to an inspiring 2010, seems I've gone and got it started right

Royal is penciled in. Rainbow has nothing on the crazy psy at royal!

I'm still laughing after seeing the 'deer in the headlights' pic of me at the main stage sunday morning. It's your turn at royal ;)

Does anyone know what the 5 people OD'd on and ended up in Ballarat hospital? It's getting a lot of news coverage. There did seem to be a lot of G there this year...

I suspected G as well as soon as i heard about those, however i guess theres a chance it could be anything. But i would put money on at least 2 or 3 of those being G related.

Cant wait for Royal :) Damn you basie you've got me hooked :p
 
You'd assume G, but it's odd that paramedics don't know what the drug was. I'm unsure if that means they don't actually know what it was, or simply that nobody bothered to tell them before the interview. I'm willing to bet on the latter.

Heard there were some dodgy pills at Rainbow, white doves that made some people sick too!!!! :X

True. Theres also the possibility that they didn't want it publicly known that GHB was being used at RSF as Ballarat hospitals outcry after the GHB overdoses at the Kryal Castle raves was one of the main reasons it was shutdown by authoritys. And an event such as RSF is much larger, less scummy, more publicly liked, and holds very big cultural values ect as oposed too a 'scummy rave' that is hated by the public, hospitals and police. Thats just my guess, could really have been anything though.

I miss rainbow!!

Yeah i was checking that out earlyer actually. Shatterd but ill be in Asia from Feb 29th untill mid March :( otherwise i would be there for sure!!! :(

Man, i'd love to go to Maitreya, however I will be starting a new job early Feb and have already asked for the end of March/beginning of April off to go to NZ for 2 weeks... as well as 3 weeks off at the end of the year, i really don't want to stretch the friendship this early. From the reviews on here and the saturation of awesome photos on facebook, it seems that RSF was brilliant - we'll be seeing you in the dust next year!
 
Yeah Im sad to report that there was indeed some G doing the rounds at rainbow, I know of one idiot that blew out on the main stage during the day. He was kind of camped with us, a friend of a friend. Had met him ounce before and not taken much of a liking to him at all. Absolute idiot, aparantly he went through 10ml. As he was getting carted off by the ambo's he fell off the stretcher and woke up then proceeded to run off. So hopefully he wont go down as a statistic.

Needless to say he was shunned after that and I hope he had the decency to leave. We dont need idiots like that killing our rainbow.

Also, as we were driving out on the monday arvo we saw the drug bus going in. Further down the freeway a bit there was a bunch of rainbow kids standing around one of the exits looking a bit silly with a police chopper circling overhead.

That killed my awesome vibe to a certain extent. But overall the best weekend of my life for sure. Paced myself perfectly, the only dampeners I had was my car breaking down not ounce but twice on the way down to melbs prior to rainbow. $1100 later and I was back on the road. Then our shade tent got floored in the gale that was friday night. And we were to off guts to get around to setting it up again, lucky we were camped with very friendly neighbours that let us mingle with them (probably just because of our crate of nangs we were liberally handing around. ;)

Excellent festival, will be back next year for sure!

Bwahaha that pic is gold. Your eyes look amazing! I nearly hit the floor when i first saw it. It made me wish i was there even more with the same expression =D

sydkiwi that totally sucks hun, sorry to hear you were let down like that :\ Good on you though for not letting it spoil your Rainbow experience.
 
Just a Suggestion - If you all want to begin discussing another event outside of Rainbow Serp then you may want to consider starting a new thread

Keeping with the [EVENT] prefix standard of course.

You will probably generate more awareness then if it is buried on page 13 of the epic RSF thread

Let me know if you want me to set it up for you of you don't have the time and/or the inclination
