Hi guys!
Last night was hell when I relized I was overdosing on cocaine. Fast heart beat, shortness of breath, dizziness, anxiety, paranoia. After a lot of sleep i woke up with slight heart pain, and the left arm a little numb. Now my question is, since i dont want to do cocaine alot after what happened what is the safest dose, and when can i do cocaine again???

Thank You

ALOT 1.5 grams, what do you mean "AGAIN AT ALL"????

Take a break. Using 1.5g of cocaine in one night is a shit ton (if it's good quality). If it isn't good quality I don't think you overdosed.

How long did it take you to consume 1.5g, and were you snorting it?

I've seen someone snort 1.75g of 80-90% pure coke in one line before and not OD (they had a MASSIVE tolerance though). I recommend NO ONE try it though.

Cocaine is one of those drugs where, even in the smallest doses, it can cause serious health problems. That being said, there is no 'safe dose'. After an overdose resulting in heart palpitations and pain in your extremities, why would you want to risk doing it again? Next time you may wind up with something much worse than a few minor pains.

Keep in mind, for any regular user 1.5g isn't much, you may have just been tweaked out and mindfucked yourself into thinking you overdosed. I've never started to get paranoia, hallucinations or chest pain until well after soloing an eight-ball...even at that time I was only using cocaine once every few weeks at most.

Take it or leave it, that's my two cents.

Edit: After reading what CH said, 1.5g could be a lot. In retrospect, the coke in my area wasn't all that great so you'd need to do more.

The good news is that what you describe is probably not a cocaine overdose. You just had somewhat too much. You numb left arm may have been caused by your sleeping on it for too long. Without coke it would have hurt but with the aneathetic effect you didn't notice. This doesn't mean that this is not dangerous, I bet some people may have injured themselves permanently in this way, I mean leaning on a body part for hours without moving and cutting it from proper blood supply and whatnot.

The other symptoms you describe are compatible with a good strong line, nothing more.

The "slight heart pain" may be a sign of something more serious, like any heart pain, but not necessarily. This is the one symtom I would watch out for next time.

At any rate, being in the state you describe is not nice and you may have bumped against a trade-off between getting high and suffering unpleasant side-effects.

I had almost exact same symptoms after doing coke. I had been doing about an 8 ball per day of some shitty quality coke. O I had a tolerance, but its hard to gauge with coke, and they varying quality/purity. All the sudden one night I had some smptoms Id never experienced. A "squeezing" type minor chest pain, which would last about 2 seconds, then was followed by extremely rapid heartbeat and shortness of breath. And I was all sweaty even though the room was air conditioned and cool. So I laid down in bed with my finger on neck monitoring my pulse. It stayed very fast for a couple minutes and then gradually slowed. About 10 minutes later I had another 2 second squeezing chest pain followed by the rapid heartbeat etc. This cycle continued I think 4 times over the course of 45 min to an hour. Then I fell asleep for the night. Scared the shit out of me though. Ive never felt my heart beat that fast. It was as fast as if I took my pulse after I ran the 100 meter dash or something. Since then, Ive tapered down my coke use a ton. I would do 1 gram lines before. Now I can only do 1/4 g lines. Anything more will give me weird chest squeezing pains and rapid heartbeat. I dont know what the fuck is happenning with my heart. I posted this stuff in another thread as well. The main thing I have left out is that the night before I experienced that first crazy cycle of chest pains, I swallowed 7 g's of my normal crappy coke after gettin pulled over. The bag came unravelled in my stomach and all 7 g's dissolved in my stomach. I blacked out and have no real recollection of what happenned. So that event may be behind why I suddenly started gettin chest pains

the second or third time i did coke i did a whole gram in one line, i didnt know what i was doing but yea, it was crazy, i didnt OD though. about your question, i dont know, everyone is different. start small is all i can say

So too high of a dose isn't an overdose? I agree, he didn't die, but there were signs of over consumption.

The dizziness, paranoia and anxiety could be attributed to a panic attack, but then again, when the thoracic pain comes into play, especially continuing into the following day, there is cause for concern.

Paranoia + anxiety is typical of a comedown. You get it each time. What you get each time is not an OD. Dizziness is a hypotension rebound. You raise your blood pressure for hours, then the whole system goes into low blood pressure mode to recover. Again, nothing unusual, although most users hardly notice this because they will be asleep when it happens. Words like "overdose" should not be bandied about lightly. An overdose is something that makes you feel like dying.

according to Blow, george jung did 10 grams in 10 minutes once

Good posting.

The tightness in your chest happens to alot of people. Actually, after getting kind of bugged out about it, I asked my friends who also have or had done coke and they said they get it from time to time too. One night that sensation and my heartbeat had me so freaked out I went to the ER, only to find out I was having a panic attack. The doctor told me cocaine, being a vasoconstrictor, tightens up your arteries somewhat, which is where the chest sensation comes from, and the occasional heart pains could be minor angina from the lack of oxygen this causes. Minor, sporadic pains now and then aren't really anything to worry about, but just know to go a little easier on yourself. Once, when I was again kind of freaked about sensations I was having, I called mysister who is an EMT to ask her. She said "Dude, if you were having a heart attack, you would fucking KNOW. People describe the chest pain as some of the worst they've felt." This isn't to say don't get stuff checked out. I got my pains under my left rib checked out, worried it was cardiac, and found out not only do I have acid reflux disease, but I'm INCREDIBLY constipated from Suboxone, and that's causing gas, which can cause pains in the same area as your heart. So remember, always take a deep breath, think about other possible factors, and then, if need be, freak out. : )

This has scared me SO much in the past! I've passed out quite a few times and woken up with a numb arm from sleeping on it wrong. I've gone as far as 3 days before feeling fully returned to my hand. I'm fine but it makes me wonder sometimes how close I really was to potentially having something bad happen due to that.

If you really were ODing I would say don't do it again for a loooong while if you really have to do it ever again. I can't say if you were or weren't but if you do it again just take it slow man.

There is no safe dose. As in relax and don't think about doing it again after you overdosed
