Clonazepam and DXM

Safe mixing these? Maybe an enhancer? 400mg of DXM atm. Great fun =)

I was out late last night (2-3-4am) high off my ass on clonazepam & weed (I got a med marijuana card! Yay!), cop found me. Was a real cool guy, didn't write me up or anything. Just walked me home and told me to call if I wanted to cruise in his car with him late at night as he worked graveyard shifts. Had a long convo with him. So yeah, stayed up all night and am writing this post curious if mixing clonazepam and dextromethorphan is a good/safe idea, or if it will enhance my trip. I've been enjoying this drug lately...

You shouldn't mix them because... one you sound like your out wandering the street doing only god knows what.. Secondly

You road in a cop car stoned on klops and eating dxm and have grave digger on speed dial..

The cop was actually a good cop. I told him I was prescribed k-pins for sleep (I was) and it didn't work and I went for a walk. He said I could drive around with him if I wanted. Hahaha I don't know anymore I'm so high =)

You might have been fine but everybody is different and mixing benzos with other drugs can be dangerous. I am not saying he will die, I am saying he could it is a bad idea and to tread with caution.
 
Yes, as always be careful when riding with cops on the nightshift. Maybe he wanted to use his handcuffs and nightstick on you? Wah wah. No, for real though, I always found the combo to be pretty cool. The klons took the jagged edge off of the DXM, and added to the weird autistic, empathetic feeling I'd get (yeah, I know it's an oxy-moron--better than a darvon moron!) Now be cautious of course, don't over do it! Always start low and go slow on anything, especially this combo. I'd say that the benzo/opiate mixing precautions apply for mellowing the robo trip.

13.2 Barbiturates and Benzodiazepines



Barbiturates ("downers") include drugs like seconal and nembutal; benzodiazepines include drugs like diazepam (ValiumTM), LibriumTM, and other antianxiety drugs. Generally speaking most but not all prescribed sedatives, antianxiety drugs, and recreational "downers" fall into this category.

Some people have reported that combining DXM with a low dose of a benzodiazepine can prevent some of the more annoying side effects (mostly related to overstimulation, high blood pressure, and tachycardia). Clonazepam in particular has been reported to have specific effects in combination with DXM, different from other benzodiazepines. These effects include enhanced CEV's (closed-eye visuals) and, of course, limiting or preventing sympathomimetic effects (high blood pressure and heart rate, sweating, etc.). I can't recommend this, and these drugs are of course prescription-only, but it doesn't seem to me that a low dose would be harmful. Just don't do it regularly.

I strongly suggest you avoid barbiturates, and be careful with benzodiazpeines; both barbiturates and benzodiazepines tend to be dangerous enough by themselves and are frequently fatal when combined with other depressants (such as alcohol).

He's right.

Just take a low dose of klonopin, only if you get too edgy.

It will lower your inhibitions even more so than either one alone.

If you do, do not follow your first impulse on any decision, always try to stop and think(will be hard to do.)
Your impulsive behavior will shine through while taking both of these at one time.
Stupid decisions lead to stupid and avoidable consequences.
 
Interesting, I always considered benzo's a good safety net. Maybe I will rethink this. Post is old, but I thought I still need to comment...

I would be MORE worried about a weirdo cop giving you his number and not just giving you his number but telling you to call late night and he would drive you around with him. The fact that he would risk his job to have you around is crazy. Now, as far as mixing any 2 drugs goes, if you are not a bubble gummer or rookie(as far as drug usage is concerned) then its usually a good time. Hate to put it that way but mixing certain things is just awesome!!

I've mixed benzos with dxm a few times, always made for a very happy relaxed trip.

Not sure if it matters but it was always taken mid-trip...
 
Yep.

It is safe to use a low dosage of a benzodiazepine (such as clonazepam/Klonopin) with DXM. This was an old post which is why I'm going to close it, as the question has been answered perfectly anyway. :)
