Cannabis usage & effects after psychedelics

Heya!

I've become more or less of a pothead during the last year, but now I've had to cut down my intakes, as it seems I start to get quite frightening psychedelic experiences and visuals when in pot, especially connected to the last 4-aco-dmt (psilocin, I hope!) trips.

I wonder if it's common that people get trip flashbacks from pot and how people generally handle them? Have they disappeared with time?

Yesterday was especially frightening. After few gooood hits from bong all colors got stronger, my pupils got really big even in brightly lit room, and the geometry and perspective started to change in a manner very similar to shroomies. I'm not sure if these effects are due to cannabis only or actual flashbacks from trippin'. It was very mentally straining regardless, and from time to time got quite scared and being able to sleep took a looong time, even though I had been awake some time by then and felt totally worn out.

Hope this went to right forum.. I'd imagine most psychedelic using people smoke pot, but many potheads are not necessarily actively into psychedelics. :)

i only get flashbacks if i smoke some super danks, or have a low tolerance, or if its the day following the trip. i almost never get flashbacks over a week after tripping. IMO its fun to have flashbacks- free trip :). my flashbacks are just intense visuals and distortions. can be a little scary when unexpected, but easy to handle

Ive only tripped once and im not really sure whats classified as 'flashbacks'. Definatly the days after weed will bring back some of the effects (visuals) of the trip, just like it does with mdma and other drugs...

But having flashbacks weeks later, ive presonally not exprienced. But maybe th stuff i smoke isnt dank enough, lol :)

Stuff I tend to smoke is big doses of mostly flowers, usually species like Moby Dick or Super Skunk. :D I'm not sure why but here in North weed smoking seems to go, from time to time, way over the top, with the ultra strong breeds and pure stuff.

The experiences are a bit weird, since the visuals are not very prominent in comparison to the sudden anxiety, panic and mental insights I get. It feels to be tripping mentally too, aside of the weird visuals.

I have never gotten a flashback or relived an experience on just cannabis, but I have when combined with DXM (which synergize to make you trip similar to a phenethylamine or tryptamine). Although since I first started tripping, my cannabis highs have been noticeably trippier, especially when I close my eyes. I think that is because I have been changed (positively) by psychedelics.

I get acid flashbacks, if thats what you mean. Weed alone doesn't trip me out unless I'm eating it, and then I feel as if it jumps my tolerance up even higher afterwards.

I can imagine heavy indicas (super skunk etc) would be one of the reasons you are expriencing the mental side-effects. I find unless im in a really positive state of mind, the same thing happens with me.

Heh, this might just be true! We got some JWH-018 offered in good amounts and I was a bit cautious about it, but turned out it gave none of the trip-effects related anxiety that strong bud did.

Instead got a pleasant and airy high, which worked well. <3

So far seems hashis and JWH to be generally pleasant for my psyche, while bud of any stronger plant is less so. Need to hang to this bit of information to avoid certain unpleasanteries in future.

Only a minority of psyc users get flashbacks .
And for those people smoking Mary seems to bring them back even more.

I have only gotten a 'flashback' once in my life, if you would like to call it that. I use to use LSD, 2c's, RC trypts and DXM a lot in my past, every weekend for the past 4 years. I just recently stopped after a couple trips to rehabs for other addictions. It was kind of weird, I woke up and I just saw everything in a different perspective, with trails following everything and everything got really distorted and wavy. I'm not sure if you can classify that as a flashback or not, but it was strange nonetheless.

I have, however, never gotten anything like that out of marijuana, other than the expected high I wanted.

No i dont but i particularly love tripping through the night coming back home at 8 or 9 and having a shower. Once the mud/blood from the trip is gone its time to sit in a hammock and smoke. I enjoy this time almost as much as i do tripping.

Haven't had flash backs from my psy use the only thing I've had was my body and mind feeling like I was on MDMA for about 5mins when I was listening to music late one night. I have 'tripped' from smoking though ... had some pretty nice visuals that night.

I've had flashbacks a few times after tripping, but usually only if/when I smoke the next day, usually the next morning or afternoon. I don't care for mushrooms too much, so I don't know about 4-aco-dmt, but my experience with LSD and ecstasy (only if it is mostly MDMA) is that flashbacks don't happen after a day or so

I've tripped on herb but that was from the THC and how some strong herb can do that to me.

I don't consider it to be a flashback or even when I have tripped and then smoked a few days later and the high from herb is VERY psychedelic I don't consider that to be a flashback either.

If it's really good herb and I have a low tolerance or I'm eating it the high sort of reminds me of a low dose of shrooms, with more of a body buzz and some slight minor visuals, but I know that I'm not tripping on mushrooms and that I'm just very stoned.

It's not actually related to flashbacks; It lacks hallucinations, doesn't show any past trip experiences per se and gives no morphing or bending of items in a way possible when tripping. Instead, it's just plain color intensification. :)

I just got another one today, smoking a hashis joint with some friends and everything just got brigther with the first puff. Especially red did.

Anyway, it's definitely nothing to worry about, since it's actually usually quite fun, albeit no one might have got a clue what you're laughing with yourself about when staring a wall and noticing how BRIGHT it is! :D

Nevertheless, talked with one friend, and an interesting (albeit admittetly far-fetched) idea surfaced:
Cannabis takes away almost all kinds of chronic pain and is capable to stop hic-ups. How I rationalized this effect is that it either a) makes focus on ALL levels of mind slightly harder (or, sedating, rather than harder) including the "parentless" brain processes such as looping hicup that has no apparent cause. Thus, it also shuts down these processes, when there's nothing to upkeep them. Or, b) it actually is capable to increase or decrease brain processing in whatever level you wish to.

In either way, this connects to the visuals in this way: It could - possibly, in very sci-fi way - that cannabis triggered an increase of activity in the neurons related to processing signals coming from the sight. Since it's likely that the data in low and far ends of visible spectrum don't just stop coming from the cells in the eye, but rather slowly fades until the area in brain that processes them is unable to process such little amounts of data. Now, when cannabis triggers the increase of cell activity, it causes the lengthening of red end of the spectrum to just slightly over what is normally visible. Which might have happened always, but I never realized it before I had 4-AcO-DMT.

I'm actually toying with the idea to empirically test this method by shooting in dark rooms with an infrared-recording camera and see how much I can afterwards spot from the showback of the recording both sober and high.
