California takes one step closer to legalization today!

A step in the right direction, though I get the feeling all is not as it appears. Hopefully this will yield some positive reform, but I'm not expecting full blown legalization. We can dream! I only wonder how long it will take other states to follow suit.

"I do not support marijuana. I don't use it, I don't want my kids to use it, I don't want anyone's kids to use it,"

This upsets me the most. I hate how some people look at marijuana as something that destroys lives and as some kind of monster. I'm sure the guy who said this drinks alcohol, maybe not a lot, but i'm sure he will on certain occasions. I'm sure the doesn't want his kids to use it, but i'm also sure that when they turn 21 he won't give a shit if they drink and will have a beer or more with them sometime after the turn 21 therefore encouraging them that drinking is acceptable behavior.....why can't the same go with marijuana? It's common and nothing that would cause an uprise to see people drinking alcohol on tv shows, hell, there are commercials....but i'm sure even when marijuana is legal it won't be as popular to show real live actors smoking on popular tv shows recreationally without showing it from a cliche point of view of a person who's high (ie cracking up at everything, being annoying as shit, etc). And i'm sure as hell that we will be lucky to see just a few ads for marijuana (lol, funny thought...but there are even commercials for cotton 8))....a television show won't want to jeopardize their ratings by having a marijuana company be a "representation" of the show because of the prejudices that half of our society has against marijuana.

If alternate universes exist...we live in the worst one, I'm envious of myself in whatever alternate universe/universes there are out there where marijuana is legal.......possibly even all drugs 8o =D

i believe the bill includes a condition that it is not to be advertised. i don't know if it's everywhere, but the condition does exist.

dude, would you rather have a world where you dont see ads for weed like you do for beer, and have it legalised for adults, or would you have it as it is, just plain illegal?

but it would be pretty ace to see them selling bags of ganja at wal-mart

I wouldn't want ads anyways, they will put marijuana in social situations with sex, pride and all the same things we see alcohol being advertised with. I'm tired of seeing kids relate smoking with badasses and sex. Well, it's what I've been seeing in younger generations views of cannabis.

They don't advertise tabacco. Sure, movie stars still smoke, but if you consider that an endorsement, weed has been endorsed just as heavily.

Prohibition has never worked. Time to legalize cannabis completely once and for all...

Cardholders means you're on medical marijuana and can purchase/grow pot for your use... Very cool!

In my home state of Kentucky if you have a card.. It means you can buy alot of food at the grocery and not pay a single penny!! AND AND grow dope behind your double wide trailer in the pines..

On a super sery I note:

I am thankful for any steps towards the canabis lifestyle. Tax it to whatever get that green in my hand without going to jail and ill be happy..

This makes me proud of my state. Last week a friend told me that the state was voting on legalizing weed that that day. I knew her facts were a bit off; it looks like this is what she was talking about.
