Tattoo idea for a friend

I know there is already a drug related tattoo thread but this is not narrowed to drugs.

My friend whom I have known for a very long time and would consider him my best friend asked me if I would design him a meaningful tattoo. Before I suggest this to him I want to know your thoughts.

Psychedelic drugs and music are his life I guess so I was thinking of having a big scene where reality is ripping away into another dimension.

Have the sun almost as a golden cat's eye being squeezed by a curling branch of a psychedelic tree. The sun being squeezed shoots out bright rays which is causing the sky to change colors, drip down onto the ground and splash up as music notes or have mushrooms grow from it. Also I want most of this sky to fall from the sky and form a psychedelic stream that eventually results as a waterfall into outer-space. In the sky somehow I want to include the chemical formula for LSD as it is his favorite drug. I will also include some far fetched butterflies ect to give it the psychedelic feel while still making it look like reality is transforming but it still seems kinda plain to me...

What do you think? What else should I add or does the whole thing sound like a bad idea? I really want this to be perfect as it cannot be removed afterwords.

He wants it to be a back piece.

Thing is, although I can draw quite well I have OCD and am quite the perfectionist so any tiny detail that bothers me will make me crumple it up and throw it out. I must have wasted over 100 sheets of paper on this idea and some of them had potential. That's why if I have more ideas to fill it in than little lines wont stand out as much and maybe ill be happy with the results.

Um I think your friend should decide what tattoo he wants, not us.

I told him about this and he loves the idea, but as i said i kinda need some more stuff to throw in to clutter it some. I'm open for suggestions, just keep the theme of reality being transformed into a psychedelic world.
