so i smoked for the last 4 months on a daily basis from a bong (90% of the time).
at first i took about 20+- hits per day and developed high tolerance in no time.
i decreased my dosage to 10 hits a day after 2 months, and now after 4 months i feel that it damaged my concentration badly (even when im not high).
now i want to quit, 3 days ago i limited myself to 3-4 hits a day, but i notice that after about 10 hours of no smoke i get slight stomach discomfort, craving for a hit, and a bad overall mood that increases with every hour until i put that hit and the bad mood and pessimism are gone, but only for a limited period of time.
are there any people here who were heavy daily smokers and managed to quit? (im talking about hashish not weed since it has more addiction potential)
how long does it take to recover from the withdrawal symptoms?

advices will be appreciated

You think you have a high tolerance ?
i've been smoking bubble hash daily for about a year now and... what a great year it was been.
but I've got my doughs about super high tolerance ...
just to you know the usual buy better stuff or maybe maybe a break.

i didnt say super high like it has no effect on me but, i had to hit 2 big bowls just to get an "ok" high (in the morning lol).
my hash is not weak, now that i smoke 3-4 bowls a day with few hours gap between, i get satisfaction from each hit with strong body buzz and further high.
i notice that after long hours of no smoke i barely have appetite and my stomach is unstable, a hit from a bong would fix that within few minutes.

those who dont understand, dont underestimate the withdrawal of hashish (or weed), it can be pain in the ass that lasts few days.

The withdrawals you're talking about are no worse than the withdrawals some people have with caffeine, ie the most minor of the minor. I've done it plenty of times. Hashish is no different than weed is to stop smoking. A pain in the ass for a few days and your tummy hurts? Nearly anything that might reduce it is far more addictive than what you're quitting. Just stop smoking it.

lol its not only my tummy, im afraid of losing my appetite and sleep ability.
ive heard people suffered these weeks after quitting

I quit weed a while ago. What did I use to stop smoking it? Heroin. You should try that. It worked WONDERS for me.

/sarcasm

I'm joking. Don't use heroin to combat "marijuana withdrawals." Just stop smoking, man. It's not that hard.

Ok. I wasn't sure if you needed this, but you do sound like you are in pretty deep. I got this straight from some old dead heads so you know this is the real deal. done correctly this will kill 90%+ of the physical withdrawal symptoms you get from quitting weed CT (cold turkey). Do this for one to two weeks.

Every morning when you wake up, drink 8 oz of 100% grapefruit juice (not a cocktail and not ruby red) and take 1000mg of vitamin c.

Every evening about an hour before you go to bed drink 8 oz of 2% milk and take 1500mg of calcium+vitamin d

that will hook you up for sure, give it a try.

Actually caffeine has a much worse withdrawal than weed, but way less than any hard drug obviously. Weed has virtually NO withdrawal, unlike caffeine.

does this stop the cold sweats and insomnia?

take a break...but yeah i didnt know that weed or hash had withdrawals, i have never felt it....

i believe you man. when i don't smoke i get sweaty and sometimes i get cold for no reason. I also have GUARANTEED insomnia for at least several nights and I will not sleep right for weeks.

heroin will not help you. anti-histamines might help for the over-excited feelings and i believe they helped a great deal with the cold sweats last time i went a week without bud.

yeah i forgot to the mention the "over excited" feelings. after long time of no smoke i become very hyperactive and i was never a hyperactive person. a friend of mine is the same.
not that it bothers me too much but i guess its one of the symptoms.
its funny people treat marijuana as a candy here, its still a stimulant that changes your brain natural function.
lets be honest, we all know that it damage our short-term memory and concentration.
it might sound very little compared to hard drugs, but its still a damage that i notice almost daily and sometimes i look and feel stupid because i forget small simple things.

edit: lol settle down, the question about heroin is a joke of course, other things are serious.

It's all psychological, if you want to get high everyday then quitting weed will be hard or impossible. If you have a good reason to want to quit then it should be easy with virtually no withdrawals.
If you just all of a sudden stopped watching TV or anything else that you have a habit of doing you would feel irritable and not know what to do with yourself. It's the same thing with weed.
Cravings come because you want to smoke. Just deal with it if you really want to quit and it'll get better.

im also curious about other issue
since i must mix my hash with tobacco, is it possible to develop nicotine addiction as a side effect?

If I don't get my morning coffee, it feels like someone hit me in the back if the head with a baseball bat!!

But quitting weed, or just not having any, doesn't cause problems anywhere near that.

Yes, your still smoking the tobacco so the nicotine is still getting in your system. :)
