Long has Shiva been involved in the psychedelic phenomena. But alas he is poor in knowledge. Shiva will excuse himself if this has been already brought up, but time is of the essence. Shiva is wondering , of the quantity of peyote Shiva must take, in order to reach the desired state. The offer is as follows. Shiva could find for himself 6 -year old cacti, nothing more! So, how many pieces of cacti must he consume? He knows, potency my vary, but even so, there must be a preset number he could try. One, two or fifteen?
p.s. Shiva has rich experience with psychedelics, so he asks for a sufficient dose.

Have you tried www.erowid.org ? We have a Big & Dandy Cactus Thread by the way. Can't be of more use to you now as my time is short, I'm afraid.

As a general note for PD: I think by now a couple cactus subthreads are warranted, at least one for san pedro and one for peyote. Will be making it if one of my fellow santa helpers doesn't do it before i do. *waves*
 
i can't help with dosing either. but please make sure you cut the button off at the base of the plant, maybe just above the soil line instead of ripping the whole thing out.

I've only tried peyote once. It was 7 grams dried and it was rather light but enjoyable. My friend also tried 7 grams and thought it was light so he then decided to try 14 grams. He got sick and puked so next time did 10.5 grams and said that was very enjoyable. I don't know how many live cacti that would be though.

Peyote cactus are not mature until around ~13 years, I think. A 6 year old cactus would likely have a very low alkaloid profile.

Not to mention it wont be nearly big enough for a solid trip either. People take 6-12 buttons, thats 6-12 plants.

If you're keen to try mescaline it'll be much easier to get some San Pedro or Peruvian Torch. They grow much faster.

If you're wanting to try peyote in particular you should look into grafting it onto a faster growing cacti, it really rockets the growth along. San Pedro is a good grafting stock.
 
Also not that peyote is rather rare in the wild and could face extinction if people aren't thoughtful about picking it. San Pedro or Peruvian Torch are probably a better choice.
 
^ Indeed, the species has dwindled in its natural environment due to reckless individuals tearing through the desert uprooting these slow growing plants for their own benefit without regard to the effects on the survival of the species.
