So I walk into the dentist not expecting much of anything but a small pre-cavity removal. Turns out they never told me they were going to be doing 3 pre cav removals and asked if I wanted Nitrous. Of course I couldn't resists (Why the fuck where they giving me Nitrous for this? I don't know..)

So I began breathing in and out .. in and out , and suddenly I felt kind of blacked out. I felt like I was in paradise. Like anything I thought of could happen to me. The feeling like I was able to move any of my body parts on command I wouldn't normally able to move filled me with joy. I remember constantly saying to myself "This is great, This is great, I love this" I have never felt so much euphoria. I was constantly swaying my head left and right filled with smiles...

I slowly woke and realized what had just happened. They were still drilling my teeth in but the thought of just being on Nitrous was amazing. It was a great experience.

I'm tempted to try some whipped cream :)

Haha thats pretty awesome, when I got my wisedom teeth removed a couple years ago I remember getting some kind of gas pumped to my face and feeling all loopy and good. After the tooth removal was done one of the male nurses put me over his shoulder and carried me to the car since I couldn't walk right haha.

I tried the whipped cream once but didn't get any effect, I've heard you can get small N2O cartridges at some Adult shops around my area, I know the local headshop doesn't carry them,

Haha, neat story. ^-^ N2O is one thing I've never tried, but always wanted to. I guess it's good I haven't needed it for any medical/dental procedures, but I would love to get ahold of some just for the experience.

at the dentist, you could theoretically ratchet up the dose until intake matches excretion through the lungs, right? But wouldn't you hit full anesthesia at some point?

So can it necessarily take you farther than whippets? I THINK that I've hit full anesthesia with whippets before, without any oxygen deprivation.

It's usually mixed with oxygen (50/50 mix) rather than being 100% nitrous so you don't suffer from oxygen deprivation. Not sure if it's possible to hit full anaesthesia in this case. Plus usually you'll get a little straw rather than a face mask, so if you're approaching full anaesthesia then you'll drop the straw and recover.

I think it would be possible with the canisters but probably not safe...

I thought the did 70/30 (just a bit more oxygen than our atmosphere).
They always gave me a mask....hmmm. :)

No I'm pretty sure it's 50/50, at least that's in Aus with the brand Entonox. I remember reading something about why it needs more oxygen than normal air but I can't remember the reason why, or where I read it :\

dusk, you can get a bottle, like a seltzer dispenser, and a case of 10 or 24, your choice, nitros canisters. theyre about the samn size as co2's. i had a dispenser that held 5 cartrages and i'd go through at least 3 cases, sometimes 12 at one time of the 24 packs. the bottle is so much easier than the ballon but, i think you get a little higher when you use the ballon because you breath in and out until ya can't no more.
100% N2O
this is not safe
i've witnesses deaths first-hand
but i think its safer than duster...

Haha, whipped cream was the first mind altering substance apart from alcohol I ever had. It felt amazing for about ten seconds then no more.
I remember going to the Dentist and getting nitrous though, I was trying so hard to stay awake but just ended up grinning my head off and nodding out.
I love that stuff but it's near impossible for me to get.

Great to hear you had a good time though man

Nitrous is great at the dentist. The trick is to always breathe through your nose, ALWAYS. Just close your mouth ;) Fantastic stuff.

Why through your nose? Why is that better than through your mouth?

N2O works when it is within your lungs, so what does the inhalin methode mathers?

Why through your nose?

so a dentist can perform procedures on one's mouth. . .and from the guy above, I'm guessing to make sure that you don't dilute the nitrous/o2 with air?

No I'm pretty sure it's 50/50, at least that's in Aus with the brand Entonox.

It sounds like you know more than me, so I think that I'll trust you. :)

Imo, a great way :)
(And offcourse then, with my mouth)

has anyone while doing nitrous repeatedly got the effect of feeling psychic. That shit trips me out everytime. Like i will hear in my head what someone is about to say then they say it and im like OMG i shoulda said it first and they will know i am psychic too. So eventually i was jsut saying what i felt peopel were gonna say and it was nuts the way it progressed. When i came down off the rush my friends were like "dude you started babbling and repeating everythign we said". I did some reading and found out it disrupts your short term memory and causes strong feelings of dejavu like basically shit is happening around you but your short term memory is incapacitated, so instead of you remembering it immediately as its happening you remember it a lil later. Your ears hear it and your brain processes it but you havent "realised" its happened yet. crazy shit. There have been times on nitrous i thought time itself was looping backward. N2O is a crazy high even if it is only for a minute.

haha where can you buy the that can / canisters? they look cheap as hell!

Here in Belgium you can buy that in some supermarkets :)
Not that cheap tho, about 0.38 euro or 0.55 dollar per catridge.

Only takin' N2O ain't worth it imo and I find it quiet strange when you have 'big experiences', black-out's, ... on it. Sounds NOT healty to me.
NEVER indanger your breathing (with maskes or bag or other stupid shit)

But, taking some N2O with LSD or other psychedelics, is just awesome. It can really push your trip to another, higher level. Especially the colorfull CEV's :)

Ow, and yes. Déjà-vu are common on N2O.

Entonox is used more in hospital situations. Most dentists prefer a regulator that varies the mix. Average would be 40:60 No2;O2 and I rarely get above 60:40 because it makes it difficult to work if the patient is drifting off and not able to keep their mouth open. You can vary the mix quickly and it allows better control, especially if people start to freak out (that is quite common).

The regulators are sfety set to not exceed 70:30. Kids are usually the ones most immune to the gas because for some reason they really want to fight the "high". The best way to judge is to watch their eyes or tell a fart joke ;)
