I get some Mg-GHB quite regularly. It is supposed to be less toxic (for kidneys)!
Question:
Does anyone know a way to clean Mg-GHB from any excess magnesium hydroxide, I'd hate to take more magnesium then necessary after reading this.
To the OP:
Na-GHB is a LOT more practical. for Mg-GHB to work you have to take shitloads of powder which would amount to putting it all in capsules or dissolving it in liquid.. Since you can only dissolve 0.5 g of Mg-GHB in 1 ml You have to carry around a lot more then with the sodium liquid.
edit: Fuck, old thread. still, interesting topic. Anyone know?
Please someone answer my Q, because this stuff does give me the shits!! So I am quite sure it contains unreacted Magnesium Hydroxide and I like my product clean and pure...
Also my question is more 'advanced' then most in this thread. Make it legitimate (for ADD) by answering me!

Mg-GHB doesn't taste as bad though. You could even put it in capsules... Those would have to be some big-ass caps though.

NaOH is easier to get, not by much though. And it's Mg(OH)2 and Mg(GHB)2, just so you know.
Back when I made that post in '06, I was speaking in English, not Chemicalese. Obviously I meant "The Magnesium salt of Gamma-Hydroxy-Butyrate". It was not my intention to follow exact stoichiometric formulae.

Tiny anecdotal datum:
I can handle 2 gm. of magnesium in one go, no GI changes (quantity of magnesium in whatever salt). Why would we expect Mg-GHB to be rougher? And I'll be SO angry if this doesn't stay 'advanced'. ![]()

okay...Mg(GHB)2 (I share Jamshyd's 'dialect' '
).

No, it needs >500mg Mg to cause a mild laxative effect.
--> ~5000mg Mg-ghb ~~> 500mg Mg
Its quite plausible one would ingest >5000 mg Mg-GHB in one sitting. 5000 mg corresponds to maybe 2-3 standard hits Na-GHB.

I take seven grams to get almost-passing-out-f'd-up. Girlfriend of mine took four and was high as the heavens. You guys are talking about 5 grams for 2-3 hits though... Is my stuff seriously bunk how do I clean it? Acetone wash didn't work so it can't be water right? must be leftover Magnesium.
As read in earlier posts.

Have you acquired tolerance (duh)?
You purport getting a bizarre salt of GHB "quite regularly".

I bet Mg-GHB isn't wothwhile...
I tested the K-GHB, its tasted is less bad but the effect is not as cool as its Na cousin... I've heard of inactivity for the Mg-GHB... I've not (still) tested it, therefore I can't say but IMO it can't be better than the Na one but it's a good experience to make it an test it. I personally love experiences
Other salts can be also tested ? Li (toxic ! ), Rb, Cs , Sr, ...

I wouldn't go any higher than potassium. Calcium could be worthwhile.
Btw I've recently been reacting my GBL with K, purely because KOH is easier to acquire than NaOH for me, and many seem to feel that K-GHB is more smooth than the Na-version.

No, that's not true.

Though i didn't like answer to you to one post of mine some time ago (i don't remember the topic - only that i didn't like your answer), i answered to [16-12-2009, 15:06 - #17 by fastandbulbous] - a post one day old at the time i answered.
I read it, because the title caught my attention (GHB interested me some time ago ...).
If "[... (Snowy)] enjoys talking me [(Jamshyd)] down [...]", i'd do it when you posted a (recently made) statement, not a question. You AFAI remember just asked some things, which i tried to answer.
Still i don't think it is an advanced discussion, because we are only talking about different forms of the same drug. We are not even considering pharmacokinetic differences or something advanced, because they are insignificant here. Different physical properties of salts, which have the same* effect is neither an advanced nor a drug issue.
BTW: I noticed the age of this thread.
Very interesting, I always thought K : Na in 2 : 1 was best and that the Mg version would be more than a little laxative. Apparently I was wrong.
Any other thoughts on the Ca version? Or Ca + K, even Ca + K + Na ? Mixed minerals could even out the chronic metal stuff as long as they aren not particularly dangerous salts...
Hmm gonna check the solubility of Ca(OH)2
0.189 g/100 mL (0 °C)
0.173 g/100 mL (20 °C
Ooh thats not gonna be good, furthermore it precipitates combined with NaOH in solution so I don't see a very successful reaction happening...
