I'm simply wondering if grapefruit juice potentiates tramadol?
I've used the search engine but it got me nowhere concerning this subject. Please respond as quickly as you guys can. Thanks for all your replies and helpful, kind hearted advice. Thanks again.

I don't see how it would. It's just grapefruit. Although, it may contain vitamins and other things I don't see it as really making a noticeable difference. I've used Tramadol many many times and have never tried it.

I could be wrong though.

Why don't you just try drinking a bunch of grapefruit juice and taking them? If it doesn't work, no harm no foul, and if it does..kindly, report back.

It won't make any big difference. Grapefruit juice can affect liver enzymes and slow the breakdown of certain substances. You can find out about how if affects various meds by asking your doc or pharmacist. While it may slow the breakdown of opiates, it won't provide anything like a noticeable rush.

Dude first of all, grapefruit juice doesn't really make a difference in the high no matter what opiate you are using. I've expeirmented with using grapefruit juice so many times and finally came to the conclusion that it is useless. And trust me i did it right and even used white grapefruit juice and even added Tagament to the mix sometimes and it never potentiated shit.

GRAPEFRUIT JUICE IS NONSENSE - all of you know it doesn't do anything to make the high better. If you do get a better effect then its just placebo.. pointless, and yes ive tried this GF juice nonsense so many times its ridiculous.

And it def. won't do anything for Tramadol man... come'on people just eat the pill and stop trying to potentiate it with nonsense tricks... And yes i know the science.

Because I know that even most of the people that use GF juice know deep down that this trick really isn't doing anything. they just get caught up in the science and shit and rumors and then all of a sudden make themselves believe that its actually potentiating their highs.

i hate when people get all caught up in proven truths too. besides, even if it were placebo, the placebo effect is still an effect, hence the nomenclature.

Oh lord have mercy on you foolish fools...I used to be like you guys too so all ill say about it is that someday you will come to the same conclusion that I have come too. Trust me i went threw this same phase..but it is just a phase of nonsense and let-down.

ok ill say this. If you want to use GrapeFruit JUICE to potentiate something then use it on Diazepam (valium), but seriously it won't help your tramadol or other opiates from working better.

so do you think that the placebo effect doesn't exist? ha, I can feel this is going to be a good one.

Let me explain the placebo effect to you:

A group of people is given a pill to treat their condition. One group is told it is a revolutionary miracle cure, and one group it told that it is a sugar pill. it is, in fact, a sugar pill. time and again, it has been shown that the the people in the first group have improved moreso than the people in the second group. this has been demonstrated countless times

Just because the pill itself does not have a pharmacological effect on the condition does not mean that it isn't effective.

I hope you can extend the analogy to the grapefruit juice on your own, but I expect I will get a reply that goes something along the lines of "ya well the grapfrut juic dosnt atchully do anyfing"

nicely explained. i couldnt have put it any better.

Really? As a med student I can tell you, that you are wrong, (and I would like to know you "expirment") it is not useless. If you do , or knew even the SLIGHTEST amount about "the science" then you would know that narcotic opioid antagonists are broken down by the liver protein CYP3A4 and that grapefruit juice counteracts that protein causing a slower metabolism of the drug, not to mention it can have fatal effects when combined with some forms of antihistamines.

For everyone else who would like to try something good here is what my studies have found:

- 1hr before dosing- 8-12oz 100% white grapefruit juice
- 30 min before dosing- 30mg Dextromethorphan
- 0 dosing time- take drug of choice
- 30 min after dosing 4-10oz 100% white grapefruit juice
- 30 min after dosing- 38-50mg diphenhydramine

I should explain the last one....it is commonly found in OTC sleep aids. And can be safely combined with grapefruit juice It will work on two levels
1) As a booster for the opioid
2) It is a for of antihistamine which will help with the itches

Hope this helps!

This is the 2nd post where you ask for help "ASAP". Please read the OD Guidelines and OD forum standards before posting again.

Urgent posts are not allowed. Your posts are not more important than anyone else's. Also you could have answered this with a tiny bit of initiative and the search engine

grapefruit juice also helps on to boost the DXM robotrippin...shrooms as well?...but im probably getting off subject..

Djsim; I definetly see where you're coming from on the rules of not demanding answers right away. Like you said, my questions aren't better than any others. But, thanks for giving me a heads up, and I've learned alot from your postings in the past.

shag1233, I liked what you had to say in your post alot. I learned alot more from that alone. Thank you. The only thing is, I hate when people on this forum start arguing, I feel like I started it all because of my op.

You did....you fuck up my whole Christmas (lol). No man it's cool I do what I can to help. But I must also admit I like to bash people for being ignorant. Be careful with the DXM and GF juice it has been know to boost Benzodiazepine to over 400%, but that is rare and I believe anyone on this site has some tolerance....but the best trick is personal knowledge of your own body

Be safe

PS. To people who think they sound smart using the word "potentiate" as a replacement for increase or greater...you look a wee bit pretentious

A quick note as well....if you are using DXM for long term periods to prevent damage to the brain over time try taking a daily shot of liquor...this will give the dxm something to bind to and not just "stick around" for lack of a less boring explanation.
