but yea, there are some decent guides on gaia actually.... i take no part in that site but some kids have posted pretty decent guides on making crazy stuff.....

There are websites devoted to kandi.

There are plans for all sorts of things, from bead cubes/3D stars to a bikini.

I have been to em all time and time again. The scene has changed, but then again its always been changing...I never really take these out with me anymore. These days its all about being cool. Candy is suppose to represent caring and empathy towards others. Each one reminds me of a smooth roll...but for the most part they are lost in faded memories. These days the candy kids are all pushed into the shadows by dirty Mexican gangs, pedophiles, and drugged out assholes.

Good times. I plan to roll until I die..at a low frequency of course..but I think its time to bury these and come back to reality. These past years have been good.

Moving on.

Thankfully i haven't seen any noticeable amount of gangster types at the parties in my state. Then again our scene is not huge, Its small enough that if you go to a decent number of parties you will see familiar faces.
 
Let me clarify though, I don't want it to seem like I have it out for mexicans. I don't. A lot of my friends out here are hispanic.

There is a cluster of bad energy coming from the massive scene for many reasons. The biggest problem is the greed and poor organization of the promoters. If they made it a safer and more positive environment then those types of people wouldn't show up in the first place.

I am simply tired of being treated like I am being herded. I seriously feel like the crowd is nothing more than cattle to these promoters. I thought ravers were people, not drugged out animals. I am sick of gangsters jumping fences, starting riots, rushing lines, starting fights, pushing, selling dirty pills, taking advantage of underage teens and stealing cell phones. FUCK THAT. It doesn't matter what race or color they are, I want those people gone from the scene.

The problem is how to get them out without looking like a racist. I guess for now ill just have to deal with it. They really fucked it for all of us though.

mayb u kandi kidz shoulda held on a little better. ur kind was dieing off when i came in to the so cal scene bakk in 05. after the ranch closed for good at the end of 06 its like ur endangered. does ne1 else remember RR? those were special weekends.
 
I just got into edm/rave scene this summer and I must say this kandy trading has become ridiculous.
I liked the idea at first, but when I wear it all I get is people coming up to me JUST to exchange bracelets.
Forget what my name is, or if we have anything in common 8)

On Halloween I wore no kandy -not ONE "kandi kid" came up to me to talk
The people I did, however, were sincerely interested in hanging out which I think is the reason kandy traded came to be -to remember THOSE people

What I'm sensing, even as a noob, is that a lot of this new wave of kids discovering "raves" feel like they have to behave in certain ways to fit in (e.i. "shuffling", kandy trading, and giving lightshows.)
When really if you like the music you have to do absolutely nothing to feel comfortable. :p

So long story short, I'm not bothering with kandy anymore.
 
^interesting. I haven't worn any to a rave yet, only received them from people i was hanging out with, and i do have a sort of emotional attachment to them. even though they're simple i try to put some feeling into the ones i make too....maybe too much. sometimes i get completely ocd and end up remaking or rearranging the pattern on the same one like 3 times haha...
i'll see if what you're talking about happens. that would kind of ruin what i thought it was all about too. if I get people coming up to me asking right off the bat for one I'll ignore it and just start talking to them and see how that goes. :)
