Being judged by other drug users

I had an acquaintance who was a pot smoker... one day I was visiting him at his place, and I decided to have a quick puff from my meth pipe before I left. As soon as he saw the glass pipe he goes "whoa, you're not doing that shit around me!". I put my pipe away, left, and never visited him again.

and vice versa happens
drug users judge other users as "not hard/cool/whatever enough"

like craig says

"drug addicts want be the fiendiest fiend out there."

"drug addicts want be the fiendiest fiend out there."

The fiendiest fiends tend to be the ones who freeload off other users without ever repaying them. I'd rather not have that kinda reputation.

I had a friend who only smoked weed drank and popped E occasionally, and he started doin meth everyday and we didn't like disown him but we HIGHLY encouraged him to get off the ice for his own sake.

He is off it now but he drained all the money in his bank account and got kicked out of his house.

^ A lot of people have encouraged me to quit meth, which I don't mind at all. I actually appreciate their concern. It's only when they start pressuring me too much, or avoiding me because of the drug, that I get offended. I admit, my meth addiction has had a lot of bad effects on my life, but I don't believe it makes me a bad person or any less of a friend.

my friend hasn't changed that much other than he just has less respect for anyone/thing in general.

^ I suppose I was the same. You tend to stop caring about things when you're a meth addict... or any kind of addict.

I cant handle stimulants anymore. I used to love them. Now they just give me anxiety. Im anxious enough. I need to relax.

There is definitely difference between voicing concern and acting like somebody is an asshole for doing something you dont approve of.

Well.. I could see why someone might be like... wowwww get that away. Cuz, I mean it is meth. He could just not want to be around it. Meth is of course very addictive and not good at all. It's like smoking poison in front of him.

And to the post and everything.. Like for me, I judge drug users that I know are ruining their lives. Like, it's just like sad to see it happen. And it's just like weird how one drug leads to another and then another... Cuz I know all the money that you waste using and how much of your life and be fucked up cuz of a drug.

Like it's not so much that I think bad about them, it's just like I feel like... nooo just stop, you're ruining your life. But I know that it's not that easy, and it's like once you open that door, and walk through, you can't decide to go back cuz it shuts and locks. You have knowledge of the feeling forever. People want to put limits and decide that what someone is doing is bad cuz they don't know and don't want to even get curious about using it. First you're curious about what it feels like, then eventually you just get more interested. It's so slow but that's just how it starts is curiosity.

The only people that I hate are those that say "that drug will ruin your brain" or "you'll ruin your life", especially when it's something like lsd or ecstasy. It's just like... seriously you have no idea what you're talking about. It's just so stupid and if they knew anything about what they were saying they would feel like a total idiot.

No offense, but that's not the nicest thing to do. If you don't know a person that well, you shouldn't be having a "quick puff from my meth pipe" in their house. It's called respect. The same thing could apply to smoking weed. If someone doesn't smoke weed and you don't know them that well, it's common courtesy to not have a "quick smoke" at their place.

The casual nature of your "I decided to have a quick puff from my meth pipe" suggests that you don't have much concern for courtesy when things involve smoking meth.

Don't get me wrong, I dislike people who are quick to judge you just because you have addiction issues. But having an addiction isn't an excuse for rude behaviour.

One thing that really boils my fucking piss are alcoholics who look down on people who use any other drug besides alcohol. I hate them just as much as the straightedge crowd (not that ive met any of that crowd as there arent really any where i live but i hate them anyway) and that is saying alot. I once gave this loud mouth drunken cunt a few good smacks in the face when i was at a place smoking a joint and he said "i fucking hate people who smoke weed". I just passed my joint to my friend and gave him a few punches until he went down. It wasent much of a fight but atleast it shut him the fuck up :X .

Also potheads and psychedelic users who look down on people like me who take opiates or benzos pisses me off as well. It's not as common where i live though as it seems to be in other places.

Thankfully i don't have any such twats in my life now so it's rarely a problem these days.

People have their own values and reasons. I knew a fellow junkie who snorted her tan. She didn't ever want me slamming it at her place, which I can understand and had no problem with. This was also the person that provided my first bump of dope and didn't warn me of anything but the potential overdose; I've since moved out of that state and cleaned up but hear she's always jonesin'. I also had another friend who didn't do drugs often but occasionally enjoyed smoking bud, doing coke, or tripping. One time, when visiting her place, I told her to go ahead inside while I shot up in my car; she said she would feel better if I did it in the safety and comfort of her own home instead.

The guy knew I was a meth addict, and never even hinted that he had a problem with it until then. And at the time I didn't go anywhere unless I was high. I was constantly having hits from the pipe. I won't go into too much detail about why I was visiting him... but let's just say that he should have been a lot more gracious towards me. But yeah, I guess I don't have much concern for courtesy either.

yea alcohol users judge other drug users

i have been judged by people i know through weed because i like to use opiates, most of em dont care or use or have used em themselves but you always find some people who just believe as long as they only use weed they are superior to other drug users cuz 'weed isnt a drug'. and to some degree i agree with them but i dont need their smug ass attitude

also been judged for using cocaine but actually i dunno if they were drug users or not, prob were weed smokers but yea i told a story about me n some friends doin a bunch of coke n how some of use took xanax to go to sleep n a few took ambien and the ones who took ambian couldnt go to sleep n ended up havin some ambien trippage. the girl was like OMG you use coke

I've had friends who abused cocaine frequently threaten to break their friendship off with me because I tried crack once. =/
