I wish I knew?
My college doesn't offer a program in audio engineering so I was wondering what major/minor combination would be the closest to it?

I was thinking Computer Engineering (or something computer based) major / Music minor.

please help.

How far along are you? Why not find a college that does offer audio engineering and go there? :o

you first need to tell us what your college does offer in terms of majors and minors

Music engineering is one of the only professions where I'd suggest going to a private College that specializes.

I am currently a junior and have taken all my core classes.
As of right now I'm lucky enough have my parents pay for my school, however, because of a few reasons, I can only go to University of Alabama.

IMO, a convincing alternative could a major in electrical engineering with a minor in music.

Does your college offer electrical engineering?

Yes, the University of Alabama offers "Electrical and Computer Engineering"

Undergrad majors offered : http://www.ua.edu/ugmajors.html

It's also one of the hardest to find a degree in... unfortunately I can't attend any other school than this one. :(

You are a junior, so shouldn't you have had to declare a major by now? If so, what did you declare? IMO, I'd do the E&C Engineering, given your options, if you feel like you've got the motivation and ability to handle the computer side of it. At the very least, it will be challenging. But it should give you options - especially if you have a bit of working knowledge about music/music theory (either recreational or as your minor).

I have had to declair a major but I'll be swiching it to E&C Engineering since that does seem to be the best. I'm pretty computer savy and learning anything computer related comes pretty easily to me, and i've got a music background. It will be a challenge but nothing I can't achieve ;D

Thanks a lot for your help you guys ! ! ! :D

bro do something that will create synergy. Do a minor related to business that way later on u can get an MBA. An engineer with a business background can be a director of an engineering firm, it opens so many more door. do finance or accounting as ur minors, or economics( this is easier). pm me i know everything about this. don't make the wrong decision , ur next 50 years rely on this decision.
