after getting the rrod 2 times on my old 360 i just went out and bought a 360 arcade. it was brand new and had an hdmi output on it and it had the upgraded heat sinks so i figured it was worth the 200 bucks. well i got a wild hair up may ass yesterday and decided to take apart the old one and see if i could do anything to fix it.
went to youtube and discovered the penny trick. basically you just tape some pennies together and place them under the motherboard so that they force the cpu and gpu into contact with the heat sinks. it worked and now im sitting here with 2 working xboxs. lol. i was going to sell one but i figured id just keep both in case one ever craps out on me.
so if you have an extra one lying around, id recommend giving it a go with this method. it wasnt very hard and it only took me about half an hour.
