Yankees or Phillies?

^ well technically that depends on where he's posting from... if he's in chicago, he posted it around midnight central time, so it was tuesday, therefore making the statement correct.

however, I doubt he took that into consideration, so he probably was thinking it was today(tuesday) rather than wednesday.

also, I thought about moving this to S&G, but I'm sure they've already got a world series thread. that's why they are the sports and gaming forum.

aannnnnnnnddd, one final thing.

Baseball SUCKS. Football FTW. GO RAVENS!

I Gotta give it to the phillies for not letting new york shut they asses out tonight but tomorrow in the bronx new yorks going to kick that ass

i'm so happy to agree. last night was a gimme for the phillies. back in NYC, it's lights out for philadelphia. it's been a good little wait b/w titles for us yankee fans now. very nice to have them back..

the New York Yankees have been dominant almost all season long.

it pains me as an Indians fan to see the starting pitchers on game one of the World Series be Cliff Lee of Philly VS CC Sabathia of the Yankees.

as a Boston Red Sox fan, and a firm believer that the Yankees are a part of the Evil Empire; I want the Phils to win. however, I don't think that they can pull it off when the boogie down is in the Bronx (which is by far the most digusting borough).

a friend of mine - a big yankees fan - was killed in a car crash a couple of days ago. (part of me) will be rooting for the yankees in his memory :)

Very not true...you ever meet anyone in Queens? I think my aunt went as far as to split two jerseys in half and sew them together...there are some people who are just fans of baseball, in general.

being a fan of baseball is fine and everything, but being a fan of the game is nothing like having a team to call yours. i've been to a game in queens (and it was GREAT) never been to a game in the bronx, but would like to. i just think of chicago... you're a sox fan or a cubs fan, you're not both. i STILL remember michael barrett punching pierszinkski (sp?) in the face. god i hate that prick (AJ).

and alasdair... i'm sorry to hear that buddy. :( i'm still cheering for the indians... i mean phillies. :D

ryanlaughlin, nyc isn't chicago. Yeah a lot of people are diehard one way or the other, but there are a decent amount of people who will cheer for NY when it comes to a World Series, regardless of team...it would be as if you lived in NYC and the Buffalo Bills were in the Super Bowl...you can still cheer for them if you're a fan of the sport, since although your preferable team didn't make it, another team from your home state did.

alasdair, i'm sorry for your loss, but that's sweet --- lets go yanks! (well, tomorrow)

well... the bills will NEVER be in the world series, sooooo... nope.

but though i SEE your point, i completely disagree. i've been to NYC enough times to realize you're one or the other. i've never known a yankees fan to say "if the mets make it to the world series... i'll cheer for them" nor have i met a mets fan to say "if the yankees make it to the world series, i'll cheer for them." it seems to me that interleague play has killed most of the love for your city over your team. besides that, the mets being so bad and having a more (in my opinion) tolerable fan base... i can see mets fans cheering for the yanks FAR before i can ever see any yanks fans saying "good for the mets."

interleague play was partially installed to make inter-city rivalries more apparent. now you can watch the yanks/mets or the whitesox/cubs or the angels/dodgers, etc... they didn't JUST do it to expose american league teams to national league teams, they partially did it because it creates more intense rivalries that they can bank on. the yankees' and mets' fanbases should NEVER be sympathetic of each other in my opinion.

though i know that's not how it is. that's how it SHOULD be.
