Does anyone know any rare psychoactive plants on earth?? And there effects they have on humans? Not asking sources just wondering are there alot known rare psychedelic plants that are rare and have any effect on humans?

Rare as in endangered plants?

I'm sure if you have a look through Erowid's plant section you'll find lots of "rare" plants.

Peyote is an endangered species, but I don't know if you'd consider that rare.

There are many psychoactive plants and some that do not become psychoactive unless other things are consumed like ayahuasca. Im sure most of them are not "rare". Datura grows all around the world in some variety or another, but for your own safety, please keep your distance from that one.

Thanks for the help, but i have checked erowids site and i have already seen and heard about them. I am wondering about if anyone knows of any rare unheard of plants that effect the human psych. I heard about a weird plant in china that people use to take, and it made them feel like they were flying/levitating. But that can be anything.

i know you puke for like an hour, but what is the trip like?

It's not hard to die from Datura ingestion.

Well, its just mescaline, so your better of using San Pedro or Peruvian Torch IMO. The sad fact is that each peyote button takes years (10~) to mature, and one needs to consume upwards of 8 for a full blown experience...

If they're unheard of how are we supposed to know about them? ;)

I knew someone was going to bring this up lol. I meant unknown to most people. Does anyone know that book, no i am not talking about any by shulgin, it was "something of the gods"?? Dont remember the name. But i know that book had alot of information. If anyone knows what I am talking, and have read it please post on some of the plants in there.

both of the above are interesting works, though i don't completely trust mckenna 8)... most indigenous stories about flying that stem from ingestion of a psychoactive plant are referring to one of the Solanceae family plants that contain tropane alkaloids... generally regarded as pretty nasty stuff, datura, belladonna, deadly nightshade, jimson weed, etc...

and like i said in the post, its best to keep your distance from the stuff. for his own safety...

Even if it doesn't kill you, your looking at 3 days of utter madness and will probably find yourself waking up in a psych ward and learning that you were running through the city ass naked at 4 am screaming gibberish at the sky and having conversations with trees....

Oh and i know its not a plant, but there is a certain species of fish that is apparently psychoactive... The name is escaping me but im thinking the nickname is "dream fish"....

Peyote is not "just mescaline." It has many active alkaloids that shape the experience. And you don't need to trip balls in order to experience great healing.

How bout Iboga? seems extremely rare...

Not in Africa or from online vendors it isn't ;)

It's not widely used though.

I recall many years ago getting a catalogue of various ethnobotanicals and there were loads of really obscure ones in there. May have been a goodly amount of marketing hype involved but there were a fair few that were reported to only be found in isolated areas of the Amazon and so forth.
