Rectal MDA

I'm very surprised I couldn't find any info on this. For MDMA injecting a solution into the butt has always been my favourite route of administration.

Now I'm wondering about MDA. I only have a relatively small amount available (170mg) and I'm planning to do it at a Flaming Lips concert, so redosing is not really an option once it kicks in. On the other hand I'm afraid to be overwhelmed by 170mg administered rectally, considering it's been ten months since the last time I've ingested any empathogen. After all, I'm planning to enjoy the show.

Anyway, some info on how MDA dosage compares to MDMA dosage, especially with rectal use would be appreciated. If a rectal dosage of 85mg would be intense enough, I'd consider splitting it with someone else and not doing it at the show at all.

But well, you don't really need to know all that since ANY info on your experience with rectal administration of MDA will be very much appreciated!

Sorry if this is not helpful at all to you, but lets get some things about RA and your situation straight:
- Rectal is useful for some compounds that are not very bioavailable, I think it is for MDMA and am almost sure MDA also is included.
- Rectal doses are much lower if normal bioavailability is lower through other methods, but you'd have to test that for yourself... which you can't because there is only enough for one or two doses.
- According to erowid the MDA vs. MDMA doses are about equal although a normalized dose of MDA may even be a bit higher, only a bit. I would interpret this as: consider the doses interchangeable, you get an added margin to be on the safe (low) side.

Now I don't know how much difference there would be between MDMA and MDA in this case but they may be quite alike... on the other hand you sound like you havent had it before, making this a hit or miss instance whichever way you turn it...

90mg rectal MDMA used to have me floating 10'' above ground level. :D I might go for 120 or so. Still info on oral vs rectal bioavailability would be useful. So far I haven't seen any accounts of rectal MDA usage. With MDMA it seems to be at around 70% oral bioavailability, assuming a rectal BA of 100%. Using the 100% just for the math and only judging by personal experience. It might as well be 50/35.

Another advantage of rectal use is a much more rapid onset and a higher peak withotu any reduced duration. Especially with a substance like MDMA (never tried MDA before) in which use I'm seeking the initial overwhelming waves of euphoria moreso than the plateau, this can raise the quality of the experience significantly!

So far, thanks for your replies. I'm still hoping to find at least one person who will confirm my assumptions about a similar BA-ratio for oral/rectal use between MDA and MDMA. It might as well be completely different for all I know.

i'd say break it up into 120mg rectally, and a 50mg booster bump. MDA should work like MDMA in terms of onset and experience

Thanks! That sounds like the way to go. That's what I always do with MDMA. Bump it up with about 40% of the initial dose after an hour or so. Prolongs the peak and the duration of the whole experience without causing too many side effects. The booster would be oral though since I will be standing in the crowd where the action is! :D

Saying "should" you are judging by your personal experience or by your knowledge of biochemistry?

Is is possible you had "material" in your large intestine and/or rectum when you administered it rectally? I ask because my experience has been that the dosage is reduced, for sure. Not as much as with some compounds, but certainly stronger per milligram, not weaker.

I agree. 100mg MDMA administered orally supplies about the same plateau intensity of 70mg rectally administered MDMA in my case.
Now the peak at that ratio is still 100% more intense with rectal administration!

We should remember though that our bodies are very (!) different from one another! So the reason for his low rectal bioavailability of MDMA might just lie in the variability of organisms. I do always squeeze the last bit of excrements out before plugging anything, not only for better absorption, but also because there's always an urge to defecate after sticking stuff up teh butty and leaving any doubt about anything whatsoever being left in the rear gets me way too worried that something nasty's gonna leak.

That being said, the ass is by far my favourite route of administration. Most rapid onset without having to be worried about infections or hurting myself otherwise, a very high bioavailability for a great many substances and less painful than snorting some crap up my nose jsut to leave it in agony and often bleeding for days. I am worried about long term damage though without actually knowing much about the risks. But if people can put litres of high proof liquor up their ass and live to tell the tale, I'm sure a few mg alkaloids in HCl salt form won't do that much damage...

You never know what king of damage taking drugs rectally long-term can be causing to your sphincter, small intestine, etc. I doubt it's much better for your tissue linings than snorting drugs are.

HAHA amazing stuff!! had 120mg rectally +50 orally right after that. burnt my ass a bit for a minute there. much better than mdma to me. no unpleasant comedown moments so far at all (t+6:00), much more humorous, emotionally distanced but still very very warm and openhearted. FUN SHIT! found out the life story of a bum, fought for an hour with a dog, met a couple of new people who i might keep getting to know more in the future and just had a great fucking night with no regrets!!!! YAY for MDA!

edit: my teeth will hurt for weeks to come.

edit3: actually, after this doobie... it doesnt feel like im close to coming down. shit. i thought id go to sleep now, back home, friend left, +6h, i am ready to call it a night. body isnt. plus i have a minor headache and back ache but that might be attributed to the ~120ml ethanol i consumed since t-1. a once in a month amount for me. i attribute the back ache to the increased muscle tension though, not to the alcohol (i do get muscle/joint pain from alcohol, but only on the next day usually).

edit9: at t+14h i still feel like coming down. my pupils are still immensely dilated. couldnt sleep for shit. a lot of bodily discomfort now, head hurts, so does my back and my hands, water retention in the hands (again, might just be caused by the alcohol, never noticed it before). still grinding teeth. perception still slightly altered. mdma wouldnt have done this to me. not so enthusiastic about the substance anymore at all.

Yes its much longer lasting than MDMA,altough the 8-12h in PIHKAL have been taken back by Shulgin.

Or,rectal is not the way to go with MDA.But then,for some it ususally tends to end up in a "brown cloak",though per PIHKAL mostly for females...altough alcohol isn't good at all with those 5-HT releasers,at least my experience.

Guess you're with those (like me) who can't really enjoy MD'kind of drugs anymore without bad aftereffects,looks like you've taken too many drugs in your career

Well hugo24, the last few times I've had MDMA (on rare occasions, once or twice per year) the next day felt great. No sort of hangover or moodiness at all. Never had this post roll depression that many people speak of. I attribute a lot of the pain to the alcohol, staying out in the cold most of the night, fighting that damn dog, chain smoking and coupling the alcohol with a lot of caffeine. Still I might have had some of these after effects, but not this severely. Btw after laying down for a few hours I feel a lot better.

You're absolutely right about not mixing it with (a lot of) alcohol. The only reason I tried this stuff was me being drunk in the first place though. ;D

MDA has a rougher body load than MDMA and seems to cause more wierd effects like cramps and jaw grinding. its trippy and fun but clearly very harsh-alcohol is a factor but mda on its own can leave your body and head feeling quite burned

eh i see. i feel a lot better by now, the teeth grinding is almost gone (been 24h now...), but my back still hurts like a mofo. my legs feel tired and strained. btw when it first hit me we were walking to the subway station and my legs felt like i had just run a marathon. or more like i had run a marathon with each leg. soooo exhausted.

i imagine mda to be much better suited for a looong party night than for a show like yesterday or a relaxed evening with friends. ive always hated the short duration of mdma. once im able to settle into the plateau im already coming down again. also the immediate comedown leaves me feeling kinda unsocial and empty inside which mda didnt do at all.

sounds good. i enjoy mda more than mdma as well cause i like tripping and the slightly more chilled out feel of it plus long duration. it always lasts 8hrs for me with about 2hrs of coming down.. i love long lasting highs tho cause when i party i want to party all day/night.. psychedelics
