same here. they are among my favourite newschool artists.

haven't seen/heard it yet, but they are releasing a lot of unreleased stuff nowadays. imho some of that should have remained unreleased. the only CS tracks i really like are rain and jajo; the rest easily sounds cheesy/plasticy to me...

Didnt have time to read the whole thread so i might be responding way late here but Goa trance and Psytrance are HUGELY different. If you think they're the same its most likely you arent too much of a fan of differentiating genres... which is all good!

My favorite Goa Trance: (not psy)

Goa Creep (1 song)
Sausee - Psymbolic 3 Live Set (mix)

tbh that sounds more like suomi influenced psytrance than goa to me. 8)

this is definitely psytrance. we have a own thread for that. this one is only for goa trance which sounds like that:

anyone else got the new e-mantra album?

it's a bit darker than usual suntrip material but imho one of the best albums this year.

true, none of them are as spectacular as for example filtertraces or the big blue on filteria's daze of our lives, but listening to the last 3 tracks on headphones definitely takes me to magical places ;)

i've seen them in september. it was full-on-ish psytrance with some goa influences. not bad, but nowhere near their old material. the remix of mahadeva they played last time i saw them was horrible imho, a dumbed down version with full on bassline.

Haven't seen them myself, but one friend who saw them basically said the same thing.

Anyone like the ambient version of Dancing Galaxy?

Astral Projection - Ambient Galaxy (Disco Valley Remix)

By the way, would you qualify early Eat Static as Goa?

Eat Static - The Brain
Eat Static - Abduction
Eat Static - Panspermia

They've always had the spirit of Goa, but I feel like their music tends to have a lot of non-goa elements like breaks/Drum & Bass and even hard techno synths. Their album Science of the Gods is definitely not very Goa in its sound.

ambient galaxy is a good track, but i like dancing galaxy better.

the first track i'd call trance. it sounds like it was released before trance and goa split so the line is a bit blurry there.
the last two tracks i'd classify as psychill.

eat static are almost their own genre in a way. but there older stuff (like Abduction album) is definitely goa. their newer stuff (De-Classifed) is more like suomish psy but not all the way suomi..

i love eat static. and their chill works are absolutely amazing too. also they make killer dnb

its a goal of mine to see them live

I also love eat static.. I'd like to see them live as well, unfortunately it's no longer "them" as Merv is the sole member since 2008.. Not exactly sure what happened there, but I guess we can all hope for an Ozric Tentacles/Eat Static double reunion tour!

Yeah, Eat Static really have a unique sound. I also like how they drum & bass and psytrance/goa. Yeah De-Classified is very good album, I feel like it goes with the spirit of old skul Eat Static, but integrates "modern developments" so to speak. The last track is particularly good.

Yeah, it's my dream to see Eat Static live. I think that would be insane. :D

Has anyone heard their "Back to Earth" album? It's supposed to be a large departure from their usual style. I don't really know what to think, I guess I just have to get their album.

EDIT: Check this out by Eat Static, really interesting: Eat Static - The First Revelation
