Out of curiousity...

Any way, supposing we find out that two compounds are in fact present, that one could separate them?

Because to me this seems like a possible case of something good, I.E. BDF (which has great experience under 1mg) laced with something bad.

Just wondering if perhaps one could dissolve one of the chemicals in something, and the other in something else... Doubt it, but just pondering.

Just reports, the same way two other people have reported on erowid. The more info we get the better until we get the final results. One little detail can say a lot to the experts around here I guess.

GC/MS or LC/MS can separate the compounds and give a mass spec on each. This works better the further apart their masses are. If they are close together in mass, or if there is in-source ion fragmentation this won't work so well. But if someone uploads the data pdf I am sure we can analyze it and get clues as to what happened. There's alot of people here with many different areas of expertise.

It will definitely be possible to identify the two compounds present , either with GC/MS or LC/MS and possibly NMR as Nuke suggested. Might take a few days or weeks though, as you need to gather the funds, fill out paperwork, ship the sample to the lab, wait for results, then analyze the results.

This really makes me sad. I also wonder what legal issues the associated parties might be involved in. Would it not be a good idea to take down this thread sometime in the future? I don't really know legal systems well, but it seems like the people involved in the company getting into legal trouble would make the situation much worse than it already is. I also don't know if anything said here could actually be used as evidence

I work in the legal field and if anyone in connection with the deaths has been following this thread or the erowid thread, it is stored on their computer which can be seized by subpoena.

You also need a known analytical sample of the substances to compare the 'bad' batch to.

That helps, but it's not necessary. Sometimes you simply do not have an existing spectra to compare to. I have done LC/MS QC just using information on the mass of the two to three largest fragmentation peaks of a known compound, based on translated studies in Pubmed or other published literature. Other lower-intensity peaks can be inferred based on expected fragmentation , based on the structure of the molecule.

I'm a software engineer--and unfortunately seizing a computer is not very helpful if the owner uses one of many types of freely available encryption. Given the area of business, it's nearly certain that the vendor's records are encrypted.

It may not be a reference standard by any means, but it might not be that difficult to get someone to donate ~100µg of the material which was distributed a few years back and widely considered to be legitimate, for comparison...

I'm afraid there's been at least another death and more hospitalizations in the USA from ""2c-b-fly"". Not coming from Denmark but from China directly...Really bad news...
 
God damn. Someone needs to tell those chinese fucks that their stupid lazy selfish corrupt business practices are killing people.
 
anywhere we can read/learn about these new deaths? I haven't seen that yet, this is terrible...any word on the chinese supplier? That could be the best chance of finding out which lab made this mistake
