NEWS : 6.10.09 - Court told of bashing fears over fake ecstasy

If the dealer doesn't want to get punched in the face then maybe he should consider a new source of income.

You wanner play this game then thats your choice.

A dealer is just a middle man, buying and selling. He can't help the quality control, that's further up the chain so the only reason to ever confront a dealer about it is:

a.) If he knowingly sold you fake pills
b.) He fails to offer you a refund or alternative
c.) Doesn't apologise.

At the end of the day, 9/10 times it wont be the dealers fault, if it is - call him and talk to him about it and if he wont refund you, go out and find another more reliable source.

I got sold fake ecstasy on NYE, i went back the next morning and gave him what was left of them and he refunded me and apoligised, even though he wasn't getting a refund off of the person he bought them off.

I only deal with people like that too. Got refunds when it was totally shit. Theres a difference between bunk and low-medium quality. I will never accept the fact that the dealer doesnt know it was shit. If its a favor then yeah accept that its bunk but for someone who is into and and in big business they should know what it is they are selling.

Exactly! Anyone handling 100+ pills at a time will be getting a tester first if they have more than two brain cells to knock together. Hence if they are selling you bunk pills, pipes etc then they are doing it knowingly and for profit at your expense. If you're dealing with people like that it mgiht be worth trying to find a nicer, slightly more honest dealer, even if it costs you a little more and means the occasional dry spell if they can't get anything decent.

Josef Murray Hutchison-Steele leaves court with family yesterday.

Drug deal assault 4 avoid jail

A MAN charged with assault after a bungled drug deal yielded only a packet of sweets says he has learned his lesson.

Four men avoided a jail term yesterday in the Hobart Supreme Court over a series of events in July last year.

Apprentice chef Marko Joseph Bilac, 20, of North Hobart, his friends Bryn "Bear" Joseph Fraser, 23, of Caringbah, NSW, and Clovis "Lucky" Joel Andrew Chartrain, 30, of South Hobart, and Josef Murray Hutchison-Steele, 38, of Nicholls Rivulet, were all found guilty of assault by depriving liberty by Justice David Porter on Thursday.

Two of the men were fined hundreds of dollars each and two will have to do community service for what was the group's first foray into the world of drugs.

As he left court with his wife and children yesterday, Hutchison-

Steele said he was sorry for his actions. "I can tell you I have learned my lesson," he said.

The court heard Bilac bought what he thought were 10 ecstasy pills through a friend who lived in Federal St, North Hobart, for $250.

He sold them to nightclub associates Fraser and Lawrence Peter de Villiers, 21, of Kingston.

However, the men soon realised they had been duped into buying lollies.

Bilac asked his friend Adam James Steele, 38, of Verona Sands, and his twin brother Hutchison-Steele to help organise a refund of the money.

They met at Woolworths in Hobart and drove to the Federal St house about 9.30pm.

Fraser took along his friend Chartrain, of South Hobart, who carried a machete in case anything went wrong.

Justice David Porter said Josef Hutchison-Steele took on the role of negotiator "a bit more enthusiastically than anyone else".

He produced a large metal fencing screw and told an occupant of the house: "If you don't screw with me, I won't screw with you."

The part-time musician wore his leather band outfit and he and his brother were mistaken for "biker dudes".

An agreement was reached to reimburse the unhappy customers the next day. They were promised either 500 real ecstasy pills or $1000 cash.

The Steele brothers said everyone was happy so they shook hands and left.

But the occupants of the house were terrified and police charged the Steele brothers, Bilac, Chartrain, Fraser and Mr de Villiers with assault by depriving liberty.

Mr de Villiers and Adam Steele were acquitted.

The others were found guilty of depriving the residents of their liberty.

ur mates a fuckhed then aye. it was only a 10pack, find another dealer.

i know a few people that deal, either for the money or just to help people out, some of them, they dont even take the pills they sell, only smoke green. sometimes they have gotten the odd shit pill but most of the time they are good pills, they dont have the money to be giving everyone refunds if they dont like them cos they just small time dealers.

it wud be good if u got ur money back i dont expect a refund from an illegal source, even if he is my mate. cos when it comes down to it, your buying something that has no quality control, you win some you lose some.

if you get angry that ur dealer cant get good shit, get another dealer, and if ur angry cos the guy in the club sold u pips then well good, u shudnt buy from a club anyway, its stupid and ur beggin to get ripped off.

just trust the person u get off has a good contact, and even then he/she might fuck up but why shud u get ur money back, its not like he/she made the pills.

just because the drugs are illegal does not mean the dealer has no responsibility for what he is selling.. IMO you are an idiot if you are dealing shit drugs and expecting shit not 2 happen. you deserve to get hit in the head.. check your product before selling it or expect complaints and ppl asking for their money back (or worse)
