Hey guys, I've been clean rolling for about 6 months now thanks to PillReports& bluelight& friends.
Usually, there'd always be a highly reputationed pill or a molly around, it's never come to a point like this week (my roll week is next week) where all my multiple connects, have no mollys, and pills that are "hit or miss" (Pills with multiple reactions in users, fakes, popular presses, Piped versions and pure versions)
So I'm at a standpoint with my money, my (and my girlfriend, since she always rolls with me) health, and my roll, And I've decided to buy a test kit.
I'd just like a few answer :]

1. Where can I buy test kits?
2. Is there a difference between a quality and a crappy test kit?
3 & 4. Forums for procedures of use and which colors of which test may mean which chemical?
5. Cheapest test kits?
6. Possible danger of chemicals in test kit?
7. Possibility of semi-experienced chemist obtaining the chemicals to create a test kit?
8.Can a test kit be make absolutely sure that a pill contains MDxx and no adulterants?
9. How long does it take to test a pill?
10. How many uses does (the pill test kit you've offered to me) provide? , Like, can I use it to test 10 pills, 20? or is it a one time use? On how many pills, could I use one purchase of a test kit on , is what I'm asking.

I'll try to answer your questions as best as I can. :)

1. If you are in the USA, you can buy testing kits from www.dancesafe.org. They take credit cards and money orders. They only ship to the USA. If you are anywhere else in the world, you can order from www.eztest.com. They ship from Amsterdam, so it will take a couple of weeks to arrive to the USA. They only take credit cards. If you are in AUS, you can order one from the www.pillreports.com website, but ONLY if you are in Australia. All places ship in plain paper packaging, nobody will know what is in the box.

2. AFAIK there is no difference between the two kits that are available. I have only used kits from DanceSafe, so I cannot compare them to EZ.

3. The following sites may be helpful to you when you are first starting out testing: http://www.dancesafe.org/testingkits/ ~ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pill_testing ~ http://www.erowid.org/chemicals/mdma/mdma_faq_testing_kits.shtml

5. The kits vary in price, and realize that if you order from EZ the price will depend on the exchange rate at the time of purchase.

6. The chemicals in the testing kits are very caustic and can cause severe skin damage. Always use extreme caution when testing, and always use a non-porous surface to test on. A ceramic plate (used only for testing purposes) is good. You can also use plastic spoons, but do not let the reagents sit for an extended period of time in the spoons. Rinse them thoroughly before throwing them away. The reagents can and will eat through plastic and other surfaces.

7. Yes, if you have some type of experience in chemistry it is totally possible for you to make your own reagents. For instance, Marquis Reagent is 9 parts concentrated sulfuric acid (H2SO4) and 1 part formaldehyde (CH2O). I'm sure you can find the rest if you Google them, if not, PM me.

8. No. Here's a good explanation from Erowid's MDMA Vault: The kit can identify whether a substance does not contain the presence of ecstasy-like substances (MDMA, MDA, MDE) through lack of reaction. The test kits can not positively identify that a pill contains ecstasy. It can not differentiate between the MD* chemicals nor tell you how much of these are in a pill. There is a growing belief that 'bunk' ecstasy producers are including a small amount of Marquis-positive chemicals to 'fool' the tests. The Marquis test will turn dark purple/black for several substances (not just Ecstasy-like compounds) therefore the presence of purple/black reaction does not mean the pill necessarily contains ecstasy.

9. It takes very little time, a few minutes? I've never really counted how long it takes. :)

10. As long as you don't use too much reagent (it doesn't take but a drop or two), a bottle should get you through 60-75 tests.

Let me know if you have any more questions. Believe me, once you have a kit, you will wonder how you lived without it. :)

Nice post VincentOnE (and reply) RB :) would be good to sticky this as Ive seen these questions a lot around the site.

I don't think the complete DS kit has the Robadope agent that the complete EZ test does, which was important to me as it can help distinguish MDMA from MDA.

Plus a purchase from EZ helps Bluelight. When you order type in "bluelight" in the promotion code and you will also get a discount too!

AHH.
RAVENOUS BLONDE AND BL, THE TWO MODS I ALWAYS SEE POSTING ON MY REPORTS ON www.pillreports.com

Bearlove, You've helped me so much around that site and getting used to terms, acronyms, safety etc. And knowing that you guys are here on bluelight is great, because you can actually socialize and get to know each-other on this forum :] Just wanted to thank you two for doing so much for everyone and keeping us ecstasy users safe :] , Getting back on topic,

I don't think Robadope would be too important, I don't think I'e experienced MDA or MDEA yet, but any form of MDxx is all composed with safrole and drains your seratonin right? . MDA seems pretty fun, and MDEA wouldn't be minded, as my roll partner is always my Fiance :]. I have heard that MDA comedowns are more harsh, does that mean they're more damaging?

Anywho, So we've got,
1.Robadope,
2.Mandelin
3.Marquis
And 4. Simons I think , off of pillreports memory ;o

1. Robadope, Distinguishes between MDA And MDMA
2. Mandelin?
3. Marquis, Turns purple to black in a certain amount of time if MDxx is present?
4. Simons, Turns certain colors depending on adulterants?

How long do these test kits last? like, do they have a life span of use?
As, it would seem if one test kit prepares 60-80 Pills, It should last me tests for the rest of my life.

Uhmmmm,

I'm not an experienced chemist, but I do know one. Degrees and all, Would it be possible, to conduct lab experiments such as http://www.ecstasydata.org/ does? Like, with a College lab, to find the actually MG amounts, and the actual adulterants. You've told me Testing kits aren't 100 percent safe, I'm about ready to go all out and be sure of any possible adulterants ;o.
Finding out these possible adulterants, if possible without extensive lab research,
Are you allowed to post those adulterants onto Pillreports?

And You can't post the MG amount of MDxx, as http://www.ecstasydata.org/ Doesn't, but they do post certain amounts of other adulterants, would that be allowed on pillreports, as I do find that would add a lot of harm reduction and knowing the crap pills from the good ones ;o.

Robadope can help with MDMA and MDA differences, but has other uses too. (but wouldn't you want to know if it is MDA, so that if you like it you could prepare for what kind of roll you wish to have in the future and if it turns out you don't like it, you could help avoid it again?)
