Is there an easy way to make suppositories?

I was wondering if anyone knows of any way I can form my DOC into a useable and effective suppository?

I found the image below on the net which got me interested - perhaps I should obtain one of these?

If you read the plugging FAQ, it explains that using suppositories isn't an ideal way to administer, due to the lack of acids etc in your ass the suppositories won't dissolve very quickly. If you have to plug then make a liquid solution if possible.

The slow rate of absorption makes the duration of the drug much longer, which in my case is desirable as it staves off drug withdrawal symptoms for a more extended period of time. This would be analogous to a controlled-release preparation of the drug. The MOA increases the bioavailability (although this isn't the sole reason for my wanting to use this form of the drug).

are there "empty" suppositories anywhere? I can only find ones that already have medications in them, but I need some that can be filled with anything I choose.

either put it in a solution, or gelcaps. you should be able to buy 00 gelcaps at any health/vitamin store, or you can buy something else thats in gelcaps and dump them out, replacing whats inside with whatever it is you want to plug

Hey, that's a really good idea.

I am however quite interested in making a delayed-/extended-release suppository, specifically for dihydrocodeine. F&B suggested using candle wax to make an ER version of DHC, so maybe if I used this method to produce a wax DHC-containing pellet which is inserted into the rectum it might work as expected?

i use fleet enema bottles from the drug store. just mix ur doc with warm water shake it up and your in there. no pun intended. there small like 1 cup of water. great for rolls.

Buy some capsules, ground up your medication, add Methicel E4M for slow release. This has worked wonders for me I can now sleep a whole night without pain

In 2002 or something I bought suppository moulds and cocoa butter for making suppositories from a health shop in Edinburgh - made of plastic and cheap, like two or three quid. But yeah, it's much easier to administer drugs rectally by dissolving and injecting with a suitable syringe (oral or IM/IV with the needle and tip removed; or a "lube shooter").

I agree plugging in a liquid solution is more effective, but I would like to try those morphine suppositories before passing judgement on all suppositories.
