ketamine - prolonged psychosis

It's well known that acute PCP use can lead to prolonged psychotic symptoms lasting up to 2 weeks but is the same ever seen with ketamine?

It was my understanding that this is very rare with ketamine which may suggest that PCP's induced prolonged symptoms are due to its greater potency and greater excitotoxicity

any thoughts, has ketamine ever made you go a bit mad for a couple of weeks?

Has PCP?

I don't know if you could say that the drug causes psychotic symptoms 2 weeks after a trip, at that point the drug would be completely metabolized.

Its possible for someone to have a mental breakdown and be psychotic following a trip, but that can happen with most psychs to some extent.

you can get "stuck" with PCP...you lose all normal vonluntary muscle control, you become a vegetable.

as for Ket, i can't imagine (as i have not seen this) being "stuck" in a K-hole.

Ketamine has twice triggered psychotic type episodes for me, once from extended abuse (multi gram a day habit) and once from a one off use combined with a stimulant comedown/sleep deprivation. The first time the symptoms lasted for a few days and eventually calmed down but I was left pretty mentally fragile for a long time. I still ended up going back and doing it again months after this happened and all was fine with occasional use up until the aforementioned stimulant comedown issue. I am done with this drug for good, it's just too good at reeling me back in even after doing me a lot of harm.

i concur Evad.. so hard to get away from it.
despite of almost feeling like you are killing yourself and your mind and your wallet lol.

I am having the same problem Evad, and somehow i also relate it to a mixture with strong stimulants, and its comedowns. I believe it is because we are abusing both, and there is some overlapping of one with the other.

Ketamine brings unity, you see things as a whole, unified, everything makes sense and interconnects into a whole, and this effects lasts even after you come out of the khole. Thats why they say ketamine is great for metaphisical thinking, just gotta read some of John C. lilly.

But if your comedowns from stimulants are giving you deppression and a little paranoia it is easy to fall into these thoughts, and interconnect them with this new taste. Rememeber K leaves you in this space for some days.

These is what i feel, although interesting, it fucks up your normal thinking pattern, evrything is intense, just gotta swim trough it all, borderline walking.

From all my experience getting stuck and being k holed are pretty much the same thing.
