San Pedro & Prozac

op, I have seen many bad trips and had a few myself. Taking any entheogen out of desperation to gain the joy that you find missing in your life is extremely dangerous. You might think you have nothing to lose but if you can't come to terms with the root causes of your depression and go into a trip with a positive attitude then you have nothing to gain. That's not to say you have to have all this shit sorted out, you most certainly don't but you can't be in a hopeless state and expect to see all the good that eludes you if you honestly don't even believe it exists. Please be careful I've seen too many people hurt themselves.

That's not what I found. I first took psychedelics after a bereavement in the family when I was feeling the worst I've ever felt in my life. They were marvellous and gave me a reason to go on.

Agreed if the set and setting is acceptable. It goes back to the old "break on through" idea.

Break on through sounds a little threatening tho - I don't find the psychedelic experience threatening - I find it a caring, warm comforting experience and also a cathartic release of emotion.
