Ok, so I'm a daily heroin user/abuser. I love that flower. I have a few subosones and I got a new job that's going to drug test me. Problem is, every time i've ever taken suboxone, I feel like its doing more bad than good but it's still better than suffering through dope withdrawl. It makes me feel queezy and light headed and it fucks my stomach up. It also makes me feel a little cracked out. Methadone has no negative side effects on me like subs do, but I can't seem to procure any methadone. I'd love to go to a clinic but I have no health insurance and I can't afford the methadone. I buy the subs for X-X dollars an 8mg tab. Good for you - C.H.

Is there anything I can take with the suboxone to counter-act the negative side effects it has such as psuedoephedrine or benadryl or something? Anyone have any advice?

[removed drug testing question - 6/7]

Pepto-Bismol?
That might help with your stomach. I know it helps me with mine sometimes.

Cap'n Jay.
P.S. Don't let CH catch you dissing suboxone. Only God knows what will happen then. :]

Dope gets out somewhat quick, but I would give it at least 4 days at the very minimum just to be safe.

Ok first of all... How much suboxone are you taking...

In my opinion no matter how heavy your habit was you shouldnt need more than 4mgs every 8 hours...

If i take more than 4mgs in a 12 hr period i start o get the really bad negative effects of sub like you described..

it still gives me tons of energy like a speed opiate or something..

YOu reallly feel good on suboxone after about 3-4 days once the acute withdrawal has passed.

i hate taking more than 2mgs a day now

promethazine seems to be a life-saver for me when I get those queezy spells from suboxone. This also will help take the edge off of the "speediness" if your not into that sorta thing.

Sorry about the price talk, I did that by accident, I didn't mean to type it out. I take about 2-4mgs every 6-12 hours depending on how bad the withdraw symptoms. I just don't like the feeling I get from the suboxone. It cures me of physical withdraw symptoms, but i truly believe that it makes the psychological aspects of dope aka cravings even worse than it would be if I didn't take subs. Also, the taste is awful and the feeling is like a sick, fucked up sort of feeling. It's also got a nod to it, but it doesn't give you the high opiates give you. I really hate subs. Methadone however, is a fucking miracle drug. It makes you feel normal, it has euphoric aspects and it doesn't last as long as the subs.

So peptobismol or promethazine (how the fuck do i get this from a pharmacy, its not otc). I really hate the speedy feeling of suboxone, I wish it would just go away. Benzos help with that shit, but benzos would show up in the drug test. Does suboxone show up on a drug test? I know it has a long ass half-life so it would take awhile to get out of your system if it did.

wow just goes to show everybody is different i never have found methadone euphoric just a slight fuzz thank god im getting off the stuff down 10ml today down two 20ml 2 weeks to go im off it its a shame thou if you require it and really need it you cant have it cause of health insurance should come to uk get it for free here

Suboxone is a very effective medication and this is one of the first times I've ever heard anybody report any negative side effects from it. I'm on Methadone maintenance and if I had the opportunity to switch to Suboxone treatment I would take it gladly. Something to think about I guess...

Dude, don't even compare Suboxone and heroin. Of course it's not going to be as rewarding as a full mu agonist like heroin. Those of us who really want to quit find it more than adequate in treating our symptoms. The symptoms you refer to may have something to do with induction and stabilization of Suboxone. Obviously you're not going to stay on it so take it as a replacement and just endure those few days.

^ Suboxone is way more addictive then heroin for some people. I personally tried most full mu agonist's and don't find them as euphoric as bupe is. Everyone has there own preference.

Suboxone is a miracle drug, and so is methadone. I don't know how they do what they do, but they're both wonderful and I am grateful that both of them exist for people like us. However, i do get some pretty harsh side effects off of suboxone. I feel nauseous, sick, dizzy, light headed and I get migraines like you can't imagine. I actually prefer detoxing with methadone, benzos or cold turkey over taking suboxone. I wish there was something I could take along with suboxone to counter-act the side effects it gives me. I'm not taking a very high dose of suboxone so I'm wondering why it's doing that to me. I usually wait about 12-24hrs from my last heroin dose to dose on suboxone.

^ Inactive ingredients have a lot of side-effects for some people. You should try subutex.

Sorry, didn't realize you specifically wanted over the counter meds. I was just saying what's worked for me. And by the way.. it is otc in a number of countries ;)

They probably won't catch the Suboxone on the test, you have to do a separate test for it and it's expensive.

I take pseudoephedrine (benaydryl is the same thing) with my Sub sometimes, it gives a slightly more mellow feeling.
My anti-depressant Effexor (venaflaxine) also helps with the mello a SMALL amount.

Pseudoephedrine is a precursor for amphetamine like molecules.
Benadryl (diphenhydramine hcl) is actually a H1 antagonist antihistamine drug...nothing like speudoephedrine.

I really wish I could take a xanax bar or two with my subs. The doc tried prescribing me many different benzos over the course of the last year, however, I had to tell them about my hardcore benzo addiction. I was addicted to benzos hardcore for about three-four years and I never, ever want to get back on those like I was. I'm afraid if I take a single mg of a benzo, it'll be down the rabbit hole again for me. I can't say opiates are much better, but they haven't destroyed my life/brain like benzos did. Opiates are much more manageable too.

I edited your post: pseudoephedrine is not Benadryl. Pseudoephedrine hcl is a nasal decongestant and a precursor for many stimulants. Benadryl is what diphenhydramine hcl is; and is used for allergies.

I can back this statement up: I have met someone who was more or less instantly psychologically addicted to Suboxone, but disliked heroin.

I was obviously the other way around but I like Suboxone a lot, it's a phenomenal drug.

I'm glad you at least quit them; because long term abuse of benzos is absolutely horrible and has changed many people's lives for the worst.

I don't take benzo's all the time. When I do I usually take 1 to 1-1/2 of the 2mg bars so in between 2mg-3mg. I usually take them for a 2-3 day period and then I won't take any for awhile. The weird thing I found, at least with me is that even taking them over a 2-3 day period, is that I will already start to get withdrawals when I stop taking them. I say it's weird because I take opiates on a regular basis not everyday but at least every 4 days and when I do I'll take anywhere between 60mg to 100mg. I don't get withdrawals hardly at all from them but the benzo's on the other hand seem like they start to put a strangle hold on me right away. As where the opiates I take don't have that kind of hold on me as the benzo's do. The only reason I spread out my intake of opiates anywhere from 4-6 days is so that I don't get some ridiculous tolerance where I have to take 200mg + everyday. Don't get me wrong I like to take benzo's but it's crazy how fast you could get addicted and how quickly you can start to get withdrawals from them. At least for me that is. :\
