Police arrested two men from the Vancouver area and found 65 kilos of Ecstasy powder (MDMA) when they stopped a speeding vehicle near Portage Ave. and the Perimeter Hwy. July 26.
Police waited a few weeks for the powder to be tested before releasing the information, Chaput said.
Some cutting agents have been added but the powder is more than 90% pure, Chaput said.
That kind of purity indicates the powder isn't far removed from the source.
It has the potential to make 650,000 tablets, which would have fetched about $6.5 million on the streets, Chaput said.
