In clarification...As Im sure u realise, you dated the guitarist! Im the singer who has never met you and so could not have written a song about you. But hey if you want to think its about you I understand. Its fun to brag to your friends about that kind of thing...and who doesnt want to have a song written about them! Now THAT is funny. Ps you secretly love that song....doncha...yeah ya do! hehe.
 
My friends' band The Maladies are releasing their debut on November 6. Finally - it's been recorded for ages. If you've got a chance listen to a track or two:

I highly recommend the track "I Feel So Fine" as a starting point (volume is a necessity for listening to them!). They are fucking amazing and if you're a Sydney sider go to a gig! And I am highly critical of friends bands. If I think they're shit I will tell them and everyone else.

"The Maladies wrap up the evening with a very cool set of toe tapping satanic blues. The unassuming front man on acoustic swings violently between sweet angelic tones and blood curdling howls as the band bursts into chaos. The lyrics are in turn uplifting, mournful and harrowing but always with a dark edge. Imagine Nick Cave and Tex Perkins doing a duet of "The Devil Went Down To Georgia" And You'd nearly be there. - The Brag.

Make up your own mind. Also, they play gigs just about every weekend. They are in New York at the moment kicking up a storm, so they probably havent played a gig in a month or so, but look at that! They are supporting Glenn Hughes from Deep Purple in April. You could check them out then! Their myspace does no justice to hearing them live, they have a MASSIVE following in Melbourne... being the elite music fan that you are, Im VERY suprised you havent heard of them! Also playing at ding dong lounge this friday night i remain corrected !

Oh and it looks like their overseas following is even BIGGER!

Would getting airplay on community radio mean that they've made it?! The answer is yes regardless...RRR have been playing their stuff...
If you're into rock music and haven't heard of Electric Mary then you must have been living under a rock cause they're the best thing going at the minute...hands down, no-one comes close!
They have another gig tomorrow night...headlining the Hi Fi...that's after getting back from Europe earlier this year and recently from the States. Good thing that they've got community radio on their side though...who knows where they'd be without it? ;)
 
tame impala - psychadelic rock outfit from perth. they're all like 18 or something... obviously been spending too much time listening to their dad's records.

they're wicked ... they do this cover of that blueboy-remember me track and it is the f'ing bombshizzle!
 
^ Agreed. Yes, it's nostalgic rock, yeah, it's derivative, but FFS, they're still good.

I'm so fucking disappointed in the number of people who have written them off.
