im not listening to it right now... but... i recently got the new arctic monkeys album...

im not a fan of the band at all, dont like any of their stuff

but this is awesome...

you can hear the Josh Homme influence from when they recorded it at the desert sessions, or whatever that place is called.
 
Listening to the Gogol Bordello Super Taranta album.

This music rules so goddamn much. The day they do their first Australian tour is going to be heavenly.

I have fantastic memories of driving to uni with a friend, with 'Edges of Twilight' blasting on the stereo. :D So many awesome tracks on this album, but Sister Awake and Fire in the Head are up there... i love the Middle Eastern sound in their music *sigh* You're right, chopsy, Jeff Martin has a fantastic voice.
 
I am loving the Gorillaz: demon days album. I have it on my computer, but never really listened to it properly. It's fucking awesome! Very alternative and unique! Noice. :D

I thought of you this morning *mom*, when track 5 -(Dirty Harry) came on the radio. I am giving this album a spin this evening because it's been stuck in my head all day. For some reason the cd doesn't like my computer and makes a squeaky noise. I though maybe it has copy protection? Anyway, I've got it playing on my stereo :)

But this would be from my favourite album this year. Hip-hop with beats made of punk samples with nods to Kid Dynamite, Fugazi and Isis? The gap between this album and any other hiphop release this year is just too wide to measure.

19-2000 - Gorillaz - Giving this album a spin because of the affore (sp?) mentioned band. I tried a playlist from 'Blur', but it was too much of this "I loooooooove youuuuuuu" bullshit. Gorillaz for the mother fucking win :)
