Fuckin scottish invasion in here, to arms soldiers!

I'm halfway through watching Adulthood at the moment, sequel to kidulthood that came outa few years back. Its pretty good and like the first film reminds me greatly of my upbringing in East London, especially all the slang and accents.
 
Could you lovebirds take it to PM or the Gibberings thread or something? I'm trying to get some movie recommendations in, here :D

Just watched Gothika. Kinda meh. Lightweight horror/thriller, nothing too scary and no nudity. Could have been interesting psychological drama but went for cheap, obvious thrills.

Can't remember if I posted about this film before (I had a heavy night on G the first time I watched it)

Re-watched Shooter last night and for a Hollywood action movie was very good.

If you like Bourne Identity then you will like this. It isn't as good as Bourne (it would have to be excellent) but is very much in the same style and has a reasonably satisfying ending, just not overly clever.

The wife enjoyed it too. So can't be that bad, as she aint as big a fan of the genre as me.

Recommend it in HD too as (unlike a lot of movies) it does benefit.

went to see inglorious basterds tonight. i thought it was a quality film. kind of fitting with the subtitles/original language patter that's been going on here. the majority of the film is in french or german with subtitles & tbh it was definitely better that way.

The clips didn't look great but I'm sure it will be what with it being a Tarantino film. I'm gonna see it before I go away.

He only ever made two good films imo. His name don't mean shit to me anymore. Plus he's teamed up with that wanker Eli Roth ffs. That guy seriously lacks talent of any kind.

Which 2 is it you like? I completely disagree with you as I like all his films, even Death Proof.
 
Deathproof was a load of ol' wank. Beautifully shot, as per usual, but still boring as fuck.

The rest were just...meh. I do like some of the other ones he's written though (Natural Born Killers, True Roance, From Dusk Till Dawn).

We more than likely have had it before, I think just recently actually. I like everything he's directed and written.
 
How good should they have been though? They can't all be Pulp Fiction or Resovoir Dogs, all have been fairly decent and he's acheived what he's set out to with each.

Which is what exactly?, suck his own cock?. If that's the case, he's certainly got a pretty good gag reflex.

I generally try to avoid comparing one film to another, no matter which director. Things should be looked at individually with an open mind, and that's what endeavor to do. And imo I think his films have gotten weaker and weaker over the years. He's just a parody of himself now and it's a bit of a sad disappointing joke.

if that's how you feel about tarantino then you'll prolly hate inglorious basterds. lots of wanky cinema mentions & lines like "in france, we respect our directors". i still reckon it was a quality film tho. go and see it even just for the bit where brad pitt speaks italian =D
 
I'm not just saying this to be controversial.

I honestly hated every one of Tarantino's Films. Over rated shit if you ask me. I have yet to make it all the way to the end of one of his movies.

I also hate the Beatles and think that Elvis was just a bit of a fat Fanny.

I get slated for my 'way out there opinions' but fuck it...diversity makes the world go round, and all that bollocks.

you couldn't make it to end of reservoir dogs? which is a fucking outstanding film. absolute classic.

what about true romance or pulp fiction? i actually can't comprehend someone not liking those films.

and fuck elvis, but the beatles? mon you, you're at it! you might not like a lot of the beatles stuff but surely you can find at least ten songs by them that you love. if not, then you're just not human lol

I could give you 5 Beatles songs I 'like' but that's it. The wife is a huge fan, but has never managed to convert me.

Tarantino films annoy me in the same way that John Malkovich does.

Hard to explain why though. When I see Malkovich I want to poke his creepy wee eyes out. And Tarantino films give me a similar feeling.

Weird.

And it was Reservoir Dogs that started my resentment off.
