I love living in VA. Beautiful mountains and beach. I travel over VA a lot because I have family and friends scattered all over... Richmond and VA beach are fun, unfortunently I live pretty far west in VA where its not as exciting :\

It's interesting because VA definently has many "rednecks", as a southern state. but as someone else mentioned, up in NOVA it's not like that, people are much more "northern"... so an interesting mix of characters.

I like how we get the true effects of the 4 seasons (vs. say, New York, where its colder, FL where its hotter, etc.) It's really beautiful.

Of course I love being on the coast. VA beach has gotten really nice in recent years, theres the strip with lots of night life and action, but also a lot of areas that are quieter, like for families and stuff. I try to make it to the beach at least 2 times a year (its a bit of a drive for me, 5-6 hours). But yeah, thats fun. I'd hate to live in a state w\ no beach.

I like being in the tobacco state b\c they arent banning smoking here everywhere like they have been in other states (although laws are getting strickter about that. ick.)

Yeah, thats about it. Lived here all my life, love it.

^Don't listen to Ninja..only Texas was allowed 2X because it's obviously the coolest state and head/shoulders above any other. It's science. :D

I find that funny that a lot of people still consider Virginia a southern state. I've meet a girl from West Virginia and she was a redneck, moonshine sippin crazyass. She told me her family had a moonshine still.

I have an off-topic question real quick. For the state of Missouri...I hear a lot of people pronounce it "Missour-a" with an 'a" at the end instead of the "i". Now I've been told that only people from Missouri are allowed to say it like this. Anybody know anything about this or what I'm referring to?

sure, I've heard that too. there are several localities that practice a local pronunciation. Like Louisville, KY. the locals pronounce it: lew ah vul. then there's New Orleans, La. The locals pronounce it: nah lynes.

VA is filled with attractive female-bots IME, and lots of vanity plates as they're free AFAIK.
