TRENTON — Two of three workers cleaning out the cellar of a rental house at 360 Morris Ave. in Chambersburg yesterday wound up being treated at St. Francis Medical Center for drug overdoses.

“I hired three guys to clean out the basement, because the owner wants to advertise the house in the paper on Saturday,” said the departing tenant. “They were supposed to pick up metal.

“Suddenly the third guy ran out of the basement, and he says the other two guys shot up heroin and overdosed!”

Trenton Emergency Medical Service personnel arrived and carried the two out on stretchers and took them to the hospital.

“At last report,” said Detective Sgt. Pedro Medina, “they were conscious and responding.”

No identifications were provided.

I was kind of expecting them to be cleaning up a heroin mill...

I guess they both shot up at the same time.

Since they shot up I assume they had their own needles and didn't just use random ones they found. My guess is they are both addicts who work together and use together. They probably got hold of some unusually potent dope and did their usual size shot.

Nothing unusual about this except they were on the job at the time and it happened to both of them. I wonder if the third guy also does heroin and just has a higher tolerance or used less or if he doesn't use.

I wonder if the 3rd guy was the dealer :D

And helped himself to the contents of their wallets and pockets before 'running for help'.

I have never heard or read that quote before Tchort but it is a good one. I doubt the third guy was their dealer, it would seem kinda weird for 2 junies and a dealer to all be working together. It isn't totally out of the realms of possibility though.

Have you ever watched the show, Venture Brothers? The quote is from season 2, the episode where they show Brock Samson's initial training with the OSI. Excellent show :D

I don't know, the whole story seems really strange. I find it very suspect that two Heroin users (one or both may have been addicts, don't know) would feel comfortable shooting up, at work, in front of someone else who either isn't a user/addict or dealer.

I mean, if you check over the threads in Drug Culture, plenty of Heroin addicts shoot up at work, either in their car in the parking lot, in a bathroom, in a locked office, etc.

But fixing in front of a non-injector? I don't think anyone trusts their co-workers enough to do that and expect them to keep quiet- especially if something goes wrong, the boss starts bitching, someone gets fired, etc.

I used to work at the same place as my dealer at one point (office building, doing white collar repeatitive tasks with a fax machine all day- spent most of my time there nodded out on top of the fax machine or on my desk).

Yeah I was suss on the third guy also being a user who just didn't OD, to me a smack dealer and two smack addicts comprising a 3 man team not related to heroin seems a lot less likely than them all being users.

I have never been in the heroin scene or anything and could be way off, your theory is an interesting one regardless.

To be honest I have never seen nor heard of the show Venture Brothers, I live in Australia and a lot of American shows don't really catch on over here. Plenty do but it seems you guys have a never ending list of shows.

LOL <3 my favorite character to pop up on that show

^Definitely, gotta love how they mixed him/her into the story too. I could see the good ol' Doc training assassins and spies; all the while moonlighting as a stripper.
You evil rat bastard, WE STILL MISS YOU!

I thought they might've found something down there as well. Seems more likely that 3rd man left for a min and the 2 junkies fixed w/ too much. 3rd guy comes back finds 'em blue-faced, scoops the wallets and runs screaming.

I think someone should e-mail the journalist who wrote this and inquire what happened to everyone involved :D

Maybe the third guy said "Hey guys, I got this great dope. I'll give you some if you help me clean out this basement!". I could see this happening. I worked with a girl who I knew had a meth habit and one day I went in to work (at the newspaper) and they said she had died "moving furniture". I'm sure she was tweaked out and had cardiac arrest.

those guys were DEFINITELY all junkies....they guy said they were taking the metal from the basement, right? i bet they were all gonna take the metal to the yard and sell that shit to get their next fix....

or maybe the guys who OD'ed already took one load of scrap metal, copped, got back to the basement, OD'ed all the the while the 3rd guy was just late to the basement becasue he was fucking his lady (or taking his own load of scrap/or copping for himself)

and suddenly the 3rd guy comes back and says "ahhhhh fuck" and runs their pockets, except empty baggies and needles and then hides his stash and calls for help. or if he's a scumbag he just gets high and lets his homies die.
