(toa$t im surprised you liked that song, doesnt seem like your style)

put it on, close your eyes and think middle of the desert around 4:00 am in a steel dj booth with a flame cannons all over the place. new dj comes on and opens with this. it's definitely not a peaker, but these tracks have an equally (if not more) important place in a well rounded set. anyone can drop huge basslines for an hour or two (and don't get me wrong, that can be great too). but that's not always appropriate.

I love the Smashing Pumpkins (I actually saw them in Melbourne last year and they were great!), and this is an interesting remix. Obviously I don't prefer it to the original, but that simply isnt possible when the original is one of the best songs ever written. I'll give this 7/10.

Now for another cool Smashing Pumpkins remix. Freeland played it at a dance festival in 04 and it blew my mind:

The Smashing Pumpkins - 1979 (New Originals '1799' remix)

Intense electro/techno that slowly drills itself into your brain. Sounds a bit like Aphex Twin, but not quite as good as Aphex. Still good though. 6.5/10.

The other competing intro was the classic Chuck Roberts' "Our House" speech.

Yeah I've heard that speech as an acapella loads - always good fun :) Theres an even better one (imo) which is at the start of Justin Robertson's 'Bugged Out' mix CD - its called 'House Music! Commercial Free?' by Sam 'The Man' Burns (sadly this one isnt on youtube). That whole Justin Robertson CD is amazing btw!

Let's have some truly demented (in a good way!) electro - Thizzer - this one's right up your street:

hahaha well..kinda...Not 100% up my street, but pretty close. Its like a few streets over.

6/10

The vocal sample reminded me of Planet Rock by Afrika Bambaataa.

Here's a good one. I love blasting this song cruising somewhere. It just has such a good vibe that makes me wanna lean back and just chill, and yet at the same time get up and dance my ass off.

Mr Flash - Disco Dynamite

Trisco - Musak (Steve Lawler mix)
Good, fun, well produced track. It was a little long for my attention span but a 7/10

Despite a some songs' incredible cheese factor I still have a special place in my heart for them b/c they were part of the soundtrack that accompanied my first rolls. This is one of those songs.
