Eh it's not that bad. There are things at any job that get under your skin.

-telling someone you like/love them through a text message. WHAT THE FUCK. This is the second time in the past two months a guy has texted me telling me he's fallen for me and wants to be my boyfriend. At least make the effort to call me? Ugh.

^ wow, mia,--

I was watching the Magic/Lakers game two nights ago, and I remember the commentator for ABC saying something to extent of "The Lakers did not lose this game. The Magic won it." He was trying to imply that both teams played very well, but the magic played slightly better. But seriously, the Lakers didn't lose? They may not have lost their ability to play good basketball, but they did lose the game!

Haha yes. 99% of sportswriters/commentators. They have to come up with some type of bullshit to talk about. I mean, I understand the root of the question. Say the Lakers turn the ball over 20 times throughout the game, and miss 50% of their freethrows, they've figuratively "lost the game" instead of the magic "winning the game" because it's not about (lack thereof) ability, it's a lack of effort or concentration. It's just silly sportswriter babble trying to sound like they know it all.

I hate every sportswriter/commentator(Bob Costas, give me a fucking break) Marv Albert: Take off the rug and tone it down) except for Charles Barkley on TNT's postgame crew. He actually knows his shit and calls people 'dumbass' and other hilarious comments.

-People who stop at yield signs

-Loud, abrasive, obnoxious people(yankee east coasters :) )

-People who won't hold the door for a female

-Who don't wave when you let them in traffic after they've sped around everyone to merge at the last possible second, when they knew the lane ended 1/2 mile back....people who attempt to do this in the first place, usually I won't let them in at all..why I like driving a pickup

--overly sensitive car alarms

Shit i could keep goin, more will come as I thnk of them

What about through internet forums? I'm falling hard mia:D

:X:X:X:X:X:X:X:X:X:X:X:X

This is not so much a pet peeve but rather an angry psychotic rant.

The U.S. Government is out of control. It is little more than a large criminal syndicate. It has now seized $30 million dollars of money belonging to poker players. Now, if you or I did this, we would be charged with embezzlement, grand larceny, or whatever. But as always, the federal government can do whatever it wants-- justice, privacy, liberty and the constitution be damned. I seriously think today's politicians must tear the constitution into little pieces and wipe the shit off their asses with it.

There isn't one damn thing the government does well. It is a huge wasteful enterprise that tramples people's rights and is accountable to no one. We call ourselves the land of the free? HA HA HA HA HA HA. What a suck fucking joke. What are you free to do in this country?

The government is always trying to take away rights. It wants to limit what we can eat, drink, smoke, watch, listen to, wear, or do. It wants to tell us we cannot have an abortion, marry someone of the same sex, or carry a gun. It goes on an all-out war against online poker players, while state lotteries are allowed to fleece people out of millions of dollars.

WHAT A JOKE. And to all the people who vote in these ineffective, wasteful and criminal regimes year after year, I hold you equally in contempt.

I think I will actually research other countries and see if there are any that actually do believe in freedom, liberty, and privacy. I would like to move there and watch from afar as this miserable government and country fails miserably as the result of decades of unjust policies.

LOL. I don't know if I'm on your level scholastically....I don't even know if I just used that word correctly.

Mia Mia para mia....that's all I got...extra credit for droppin some Spanish in there?;)<3

Haha. You should have just thrown a bunch of Spanish in there and told me it was a sonnet, I would have believed you. ;)

Fjones, this I do not understand-- while I agree with you on the goverment for the most part, why do you hold voters in contempt?

Apparently Obama is trying to enforce a bunch of new taxes on workers in the "adult entertainment" industry. This pisses me off because while all the dancers at my club do do their taxes (the one who've been dancing for a while anyway) to enforce extra taxes is fucking bullshit. 40-50% of what I make every night goes back to the house in fees and tips. For every $40 dance I do I make $23 after tips and fees, I pay a $50 house fee just to BE there, and if I don't make my drink quota I end up having to pay out of pocket for drinks (and they don't even give me the drinks)... and that's low fee wise, I've heard of clubs with $200 house fees. So Basically the first dance I do goes to the house, and if I don't sell the drinks I would have to do four dances to not OWE them $. So I consider myself having paid taxes twice... so extra taxes... is bullshit.

Come to Aus!! =D

I hold the voters in contempt because they keep voting these peopel into office. I should add that anyone who votes libertarian is exempt from my scorn and contempt.

Did you vote for Ron Paul?

Come to Aus!! =D

I am strongly considering this.

Having lived in both, Australia's population I think would suit you better, Fjones. But the laws aren't all that much different. For example, I can't think of one drug legal in Aus but illegal in USA, but I can think of at least one vice-versa. And the cost of living in Aus is higher :( But there are casinos everywhere :)

I knew a guy in Brisbane, who was pretty good at poker. He'd always hit the poker tables on Saturday nights around 3am, claiming that this is when the average player was most intoxicated/amateur and therefore the most money could be made. And as far as I could tell, he made a few dollars off of this.

If you can get over the stimga attached to such, be an ex-pat in SE Asia. Thailand or Cambodia's where it's at. Those governments couldn't care less about internet poker. In fact, if you're a good enough poker player, you CAN do whatever you want there. Poker profits -> bribes over criminal offences. And OTC benzos ;)

I was rooting for Dr. Ron Paul, but for some reason the Libertarian party nominated Bob Barr (who isn't really a libertarian). I was torn between voting for Dr. Ron Paul as a write-in vote or voting for Barr just to give the Libertarian party a vote. In the end, I voted for Barr.

Yah I was watchin the news jones and saw the online gambling story and thought of you. I figured it would make it to this thread.

Isn't the online gambling law really unclear and shit? This 30 mil, what's going to end up happening to it all? You going to ever see your 2 mill again?

Online poker is not illegal. It never has been and it never will be, because such a law would be absurd. Poker is a game of skill, and any attempt to show otherwise is ludicrous. There is no law on the books pertaining to online poker, again, because such a law would be absurd given that

A) It is legal to play poker in actual casinos, and
B) Most states have a lottery, which is a game of no skill that fleeces people out of half their money.

The Department of Justice attempts to claim that the wire act of 1961 makes online poker illegal. This is absurd. The position is regarded as utter nonsense in almost all legal circles. The government has never attempted to prosecute anyone under this supposed law, further showing how ridiculous this whole affair is. However, the government has attempted large scale extortion of law abiding citizens of other countries who choose to do online business with U.S. Customers.

What really galls me is the complete misinformation out there. For example, when a news story comes on about poker, chances are the news anchor will say something like, " ... online poker is illegal in all 50 states...."

NO IT IS NOT! GET YOUR FUCKING FACTS STRAIGHT! You are a NEWS outlet, not a misinformation and disinformation outlet!
