I've acquired a few daytrana patches (methylphenidate). I'm a pretty sweaty italian guy come summer time and I've. Noticed that the adhesive on this stuff is sub-par. I wiped my upper arm, stuck it on and 20 minutes later checked to see that the 8-hr patch was already falling off.
What's the tricks here when it comes to patches? Is the upper arm the best bet? What other words should I heed when applying these?

I had this problem with my Duragesic patches, and I found something that fixes it 100%

Tegaderm. I buy them in bulk online, but you can get them at Walgreens or whatever. They come in various sizes, I think the ones I use are 4in x 4 3/4in. I'd recommend putting the patch on your chest then putting the Tegaderm over it. They keep them on, and are also completely waterproof

Been using them for many months, and I've never had one single patch come off or even become loose, get wet in the shower or with vigorous swimming

So, chest+tegaderm and you will never have a problem.

I think it is just like a bandage that has a clear plastic middle, but allows your skin to breath still. Not sure.

Tegaderm eh? Is this like a tape?
The med tape worked great today but this summer heat is such a bitch for adhesive

Tegaderm is just a clear adhesive square. I know I sound like an advertisement, but it just works so god damned good. I've worn it out in the summer heat, swimming laps, fuckin around in a river, and every other situation and it has never failed

There's a picture here so you can get an idea

Yeah Tegaderm works great, if you can't get that adhesive tape works pretty well.
Shire directs that the Daytrana patch is to be applied to the hip, alternating the left and right hip every other day.

i have heard of people using very small amounts of anti perspirant deodorant on their skin first. Not just deodorant but anti-perspirant. It will dry your sweaty italian skin right up and keep it that way. when i wore fent patches, I always used med tape and it helped to a degree but they still came off. I didn't hear about the anti-perspirant trick until after that, but i have read on other forums it works very well. Just a super thin layer where the patch will go, maybe for you, you could put some around the patch too for insurance. Let us know what works for you!

Id just use tape like I suggested above. Its cheaper, and easier to find. Also, if heat is an issue, maybe slap it on your back?
