Question: Is Australia just like a sheep?

In light of the following article:

Ammiano introduced legislation last month that would legalize pot and allow the state to regulate and tax its sale — a move that could mean billions of dollars for the cash-strapped state. Would Australia follow suit if America was to legalise marijuana?

You would think so since I believe most of our analogue laws are based on theirs.

I think the U.K would follow first and then Australia would, of course it would be long time before this happens...

I guess it's only a matter of time before the Government legalizes the majority of drugs I would say, I do feel that a lot of them do have some medical use to them, of course there are a lot that do not as well... But who cares about those ones all I want is MDMA and Cocaine legalized and I will be happy, I think I can find some medical use for those two as well as a few other but I don't care about the other ones apart from LSD but I would have a little trouble finding some medical use for that one lol.

^ Cocaine is used medicinally in the US at least, it's one of the best local anesthetics you can get.

As for MDMA, definitely should be looked at for therapy and post-traumatic stress disorder. It's a shame that something with so much potential is being kept from those who could really use it's benefits in the proper therapeutic environment.

Totally agree with you their. Look at the amount they spend on the war on drugs, then look at the amount of money drugs make globally or even nationally.... They could be saving the cash they spend on the war on drugs which is in the billions I think or is it hundreds of millions? I can't remember right now, but then think of the taxes they could put on top of drugs and of course the Government would probably own the companies that manufactured the drugs which gives them more money and then they would also create more jobs and a stronger economy...

Which ever country jumps on legalizing drugs and manufacturing drugs first will become a very strong country economically and will have the upper hand when other countries follow suit which we all know will happen with the major nations lol bah bah what's that I hear??? A whole bunch of sheep hahaha.

I remember reading somewhere that they were using MDMA on soldiers coming back from Iraq/Afghanistan to help with shell shock/Posttraumatic stress disorder..

Ahhh yes I remember seeing that somewhere as well, it was in either time magazine or on 60 minutes... Definitely one of those two because the cover of time magazine reminds me of 60 minutes and I can recall seeing the red writing and stuff or the red background with the clock around the same time I informed myself of it.

^^ I'm amazed it has taken this long for the discussion to even become public and look like a possibility (even if it takes another decade or two to be accepted, filter through and pass legislation here). I mean look how much money the US government has raked in on alcohol taxes since prohibition was abolished there?

Cannabis has been legal in Cali for a while in terms of medicinal use, which is hilarious as its still a Schedule 1 narcotic (as bad as heroin... lol) according to the federal legislature... anyone with a basic legal understanding knows that federal legislation trumps state legislation, but the DEA et al. let it go without LE requests for assistance.

Don't expect things to change at a federal level in the short or medium term.
