"cloud the trip"
maybe, but for me, it makes it much more blissful.
i don't find the comedown an issue, but the peak.
there is a paranoia that I'll be discovered completely intoxicated that often prevents me from full enjoyment.
I think opiates are misunderstood because of who uses them.
not everyone is such a pussy about addiction. people (esp. authorities) make it sound like you'll die if you take it.
I find that hard to beleive when laudanum was sold at pharmacies without prescription for 200 years for personal use and as a baby-quieter, everyone became total addicts.
Prior to that people grew it in their own gardens, some old ladies still do.
Even the chinese ended up using it like alcohol, and it became integrated into their society.
I think you should experiment, you might find it enjoyable.
Mind you, opiate receptors in the brain die with age. So some use will help sustain these cells in the brain. The other major receptors which decline are serotonin (>50%) and acetylcholine.
Current treatment for alzheimers is prozac (serotonin) and ginko biloba (acetylcholine).
So if you want to defy mental age decline, take your mushrooms, with opiate tea, and dried muscarias, and you will have all bases covered using drugs.
