Israel was sold to me as a holiday destination by most Israelis I met going around the world. Particularly good if you live there apparently because it is so close to many other interesting places to travel to.

However, I can't bring myself to even consider it.

I'm shitting myself over Swine Flu in Cuba because its so close to Mexico and I know their news won't declare any outbreaks!
 
20 weeks doesn't seem like a long time tbh as the weeks tend to fly in! 20 weeks, woooohooo!

I should have my wages tomorrow or wednesday, they were transffered on Friday, 3 days to clear. Financial situation has picked up at work temporarily anyway.

I'll be flying into Sydney possibly but may head North soon after that and work my way down the coast. I'll need to properly look into the weather.

Think I'll try and get a cheap flight to New Zealand then onto Fiji possibly, might take a wee trip back to Bali again too.

Sydney to Auckland for around £100 return. :)
 
Ah yeah, i forgot you're doing a quick tour. How much cash you taking for spends?
 
I'm not doing a quick tour really, I plan to be out there for quite a while. I'll have spending money for approx. 4 months, if I work I'll be able to stay longer.
 
4 months is very quick. The place is a tad bit bigger than Lanarkshire. ;)

How much are you actually thinking you'll need for 4 months spending?
 
4 months plus mate. Will have £4k to spend once there. Get a job I can stay longer.
 
I've no idea what i'd plan to spend. I think it used to be about AUD30-AUD50 for a bunk in a hostel, but that was back in the late 90's so i imagine some inflation has taken hold. But if it hasn't that's a min of £450 a month on accom. Prob worth finding out before you go!!

Beer used to be about AUD5 for a schooner, but you could get cheaper. I can't remember anything else! :)
 
Aye if you book somewhere for a longer period of time before you can get a good deal.

I've looked into it mate, recommended budget is up to $100AUD (bout £48 ) a day for everything but I plan on doing lots of sitting on the beach all day and not spending crazy amounts of money at every opportunity. Done a lot of the big things already like GBR, trips to Daintree Rainforest, Blue Mountains etc which cost a lot so don't plan to do them again. Will save money by not doing those trips and by couchsurfing so reckon I can spend much less a day. If moneys running out too quickly Jetstar budget flight to Bali it is, cheap as chips. :)
 
^ Fair enough, that budget sounds pretty realistic for living on, as long as you don't get "blind on piss" every night. :)

Have you been watching "Nothing to Declare" for tips on getting your benzo's in to the country?
 
I won't be taking any benzos with me mate. :p

Also going to look into doing WWOOFing too, that will save some cash. Free board and food for a few hours work, can't be bad. :)
