thats terrible legalize them all
Keep in mind I am a very strong supporter of getting rid of the war on drugs however even I feel that in the current situation it is much more important to fix the most pressing issues first.
And this is probably the truest statement I've heard all week. Never underestimate the stupidity of the masses, or the representatives they elect. As one US Senator remarked after claiming that he does not believe in evolution and considers the earth to be exactly 4000 years old (or whatever the Bible-thumpers and snake-handlers think): "there is no intelligence test for being a Senator."People will ALWAYS be stupid.
This is a very true statement. In this economy, drug policy reform is the last thing on the President's mind.
He lied. Simple as that.
ron paul 12' =p
If he runs again, I'll vote for him
What a fucking tool
?? well then they fight for the cocaine, heroin, and etc. trades which would be the remaining %...Oiy Vey...fuck it im going to roll one.fucku barackwhat a fucking tool
I bet some of the people that voted for him are regretting that decision now...and not just from the "war on drugs" farce....
I think I need to leave this country, maybe Canada would be good.
the left it's just as nearly useless, but at least they're not a force trying hard to hold progress back.
What a fucking tool
I'm not sure which parallel universe you guys inhabit where americans are in favor of legalizing.
Polls mean nothing when it comes to these issues btw, so please save them. If we were to run one on bluelight and I'm convinced there won't be a vote against it.
America is not bluelight, it's an extremely religious country. It has freaking xtian tv. Some are even 24/7 for crying out loud. I haven't visited any other country that shows xtian tv past midnight (quite the opposite in most I've visited). So then, which is the party who has pocketed the religious institutions in America? Right wing politicians, backed by xtian nutcases who scream commie! at any argument thrown at them when they're on fox news. Just look at the total voting results, 52.9% obama vs 45.7% mccain. That's quite of an opposition considering how shitty of a president Bush turned out to be. Now of that blue majority there are still quite a few who are old & religious, and probably not that many who are pro legalizers. If you were to weigh those who are against it, and for it, legalization would lose out.
Had Obama had taken the question seriously in that town hall meeting, the right would've hung him by the balls. We would have pro drug-war rallies sponsored by fox in every state and stupid shit like that fueled by fear mongering just in the same fashion as we have with the anti-abortion, and second amendment movements. The only states who are for legalization are probably blue states, but they won't have their say unless the red states lighten up about this issue. As long as the fear mongering goes on am radio and the likes of fox we will not have any progress at all.
Don't take me wrong though, the left it's just as nearly useless, but at least they're not a force trying hard to hold progress back.
I know people who live in staunchly republican towns, and feel they can't talk openly about drugs, or sexual preferences. It's a cultural problem first. That's the reality of america folks.
