What are some 80's teen movies you all would recommend? I'm gonna list the ones I've seen already, along with one word opinion of each, but any I miss I'd love to watch, so let me know which ones I miss.

Breakfast Club (boring)
Fast Times at Ridgmont High (entertaining)
3 O'Clock High (underappreciated)
Real Genius (cool)
Sixteen Candles (crap)
Pretty in Pink (crap)
Ferris Buellers Day Off (overrated)
Jocks (ok)
Heathers (different)
Valley Girls (sexy)
Wargames (neat)
License to Drive (funny)
Manhattan Project (awesome)

I know there are tons I forgot to list, but I would love to rent a bunch I have yet to see, so anyones help would be great!!!

hmm, nice thread lol, in a way... but.. comedies only?

Summer School (classic cali-fun-ya movie..with kirstie alley)
Lost Boys (really good teen vampire flick)
Porky's
Meatballs
Better Off Dead (ok)
The Outsiders (classic..good book too)
Say Anything (totally sucks IMO)
Revenge of the Nerds

i ll get back to you

alright thanks. no there can be non- comedy's. I wouldn't really consider Wargames or Manhattan Project a comedy.
But what do you mean it's only nice "in a way"? My thread rules!:)

BTW I've seen all of the one you listed, and I forgot about Summer School, what a laugh riot.

Meatballs was a good one too, and I'd agree with you on Say Anything. For some reason, John Cusack got roles in the 80's to movies that, IMO, all had a lot of potential but for some reason just weren't quite there.

Weird Science. (kinda bad, but fits in with the others listed) :D

teen wolf (fuk da sequal)
less than zero
slumber party massacre series (...lol)

rock n roll high school (ok ok, it was made 1979, but it's awesome! def check it out, especially if you like the Ramones...and pj soles was hot back then)
loverboy (lame)
st elmos fire (good)
adventures in babysitting (HELL YEA! elisabeth shue..mwahs )
mannequin (hahhaha-no comment)
back to school (R.I.P. rodney)

+1 Weird Science, St. Elmo's Fire, The Lost Boys, Some Kind Of Wonderful and Adventures In Babysitting :D

Stand By Me
The Goonies
Explorers
River's Edge
Catholic Boys
Class
Dream A Little Dream
Flowers In The Attic
Nightmare On Elm Street 1 & 3

Summer School was the shit! Or at least it was when I was like 11...

Adventures In Babysitting
Night of the Comet (Awesome....)
Stewardess School (so horrifyingly bad that it's amazingly great)

For some reason I'm drawing a major blank now, wtf.

the return of the living dead: I consider the best teen comedy ever. Part 2 is ok too.

Some more:

An american werewolf in london
back to the future
bill and ted's excellent adventure
footloose
killer klowns from outer space
Re-animator
The toxic avenger
They live

They all fit into "teen movies from the 80's" well ok the last one is a joke but I love that film.

Gotcha
Red dawn
Back to the future
Not really teen but enjoyed them as a kid, Name of the rose, Police academy, Ghostbusters
A christmas story
Karate kid
Gremlins

To the OP: Wow you thought the trifecta of John Hughes was crap? Oh well I guess to each his own...:o

My favorites...(highlighted ones not yet mentioned)

Zapped (ok...Scott Baio was my first ever celebrity crush EVER):p
Less than Zero
Pump up the Volume (even got the matching soundtrack)
Real Genius (still has me in stitches to this day)
Footloose
Heathers (memorized the whole script in highschool)
Dead Poets Society (yes..it came out in 1989!)
Just one of the Guys
License to Drive (cheesiness galore but we all loved it!)
Adventures in Babysitting
Fast Times at Ridgemont High
Some Kind of Wonderful
Lost Boys
She's Out of Control (Tony Danza was just so lovable, and I love the whole slow motion girl-going down the stairs scene)
Lucas
Valley Girl
St Elmos Fire

Not teen material but I really enjoyed ...
Blind Date
Earth Girls are Easy
White Water Summer
(Kevin Bacon as the ultimate PRICK! )

And it goes without saying that I love everything by John Hughes (well, except for Ferris Buellers, which I thought was a tad overrated and which I only watched twice compared to the 6302869 times I watched all the others).=D

i love threads like this, cuz i'm always trying to think of stuff to rent for my kids.

how come no one has mentioned Gremlins yet?

the Wild Life.

starring eric stoltz & chris penn.

also the sound track was done by eddie van halen.

Hairspray (I was obsessed w/ this movie as a child)
Labyrinth

I'm semi embarrassed to admit how much I love this movie, but whatever it was the 80's and the "Top That" rap is only one of the best songs ever sooo yea, I'm mentioning it....

Teen Witch
