Here's the score. Write a story that begins with the line, "It seemed to shimmer in the sunlight." And ends with the line, "...and there were five."

I'm not going to suggest a specific length but I'll assume that everyone's story will be readable. In other words, if you write a novel, you run the risk of people not reading it. We'll take two weeks to write our stories. When you are done writting, PM me your story and I'll post them all at the same time.

We can use this thread to suggest a title that will be given to the winner. I'm a fan of "Word Perfect".

The due date is June 12. Good luck!

I have a question about this part.. Ends with the line, "...and there were five." Do the three periods in the beginning mean that we fill in that part, or is it a pause.

^^it means that you should fill in that part. And thank you for the entry :)

btw I'm not going to read any of them until I post them all..just so everyone knows.

don't worry bout it, we're having a new deadline cause I only got one story!

Hmmm i should write something as well. You might want to send an email Mehm to the top posters in here to remind them about the contest. The great thing and the negative thing about a sticky is that it is static. You get use to it than forget about it.

It seemed to shimmer in the sunlight. It was shimmery, as stars usually are. It had points of geometric symmetry, it had fell down from the sky in the night and five wise men stood around it and uttered magic incantations. The points of the star each had a special name above it, the names were spoken and from each point arose an angel with wings and lioncloths. the usual attire of angels. There were angels for each element and I counted them and there were five.

we now have 4 total entries. looks like there is a contest to be had after all :)

How many can we write? I have two ideas for this and dont know which would be better. Both are totally different.

I've done a first draft also... But I fear it's a little bit long. I might go the Donnie C route and submit 2 as well: both a short and a long.

Don't procrastinate, damn you! Eat a well balanced meal, do a few laps around the YMCA gym and write! xo
