Is/was Meryl Streep Attractive?

Do you find Meryl attractive?

He just happens to think Meryl Streep is straight up ugly and can't imagine why other men would find her attractive. I guess he's an anomaly.
different people, different tastes
he's not an anomaly
i'm also surprised that some people find her beautiful

I think this would be better addressed in a poll. We could more easily compare numbers.

Men that find her attractive
Men that don't
Men that are neutral

Same thing for women

I don't think an argument is gonna answer this question for the OP. I think she is looking to know what percentage of men find her attractive.

I know that acting is subjective . . . but so are basketball and classical music . . .

. . . and saying that Michael Jordan isn't one of the greatest players of all time or that Beethoven isn't one of the best composers of all-time is, in my extremely strong opinion, just about as borderline absurd as not acknowledging Streep's greatness.

Her peers think she's the best, the Globes thinks she's the best, the Academy thinks she's the best - perhaps, you ought to re-watch (or, WATCH) her movies and give your opinion a second thought.

to allow you to fully realize the subjectivity of the Arts, I will say that I have never liked classical music, either. and this is coming from someone who was forced to learn the ins and outs at a music conservatory in college. I find classical music to be antiquated and boring (and I am much more a jazz type derelict).

this may be another subject for debate, but some things are more true than others. while it is difficult for someone to say "music A is better than music B" or "actor A is better than actor B" it is easier, in the realm of sports to say "this athlete is better than this athlete."

the reason is because of clear-cut statistics. again, some things may be truer than others.

if I were to ask somebody "who is the greatest centerfielder of all-time?" the most obvious, and only real answer, should be Willie Mays. in fact, I would say you could only truly argue Joe DiMaggio as the only competition. and this is because statistics.

somethings are truer than others, and there not many absolute truths in the arts.

Can't say I'm attracted to and I find her acting to be dire. I can't stand to watch her.

it's not that I can't stand to watch her, but I do find her acting to be dire. well said, Mr Spade.

I bet you haven't even seen any of her films, purely for the fact that you can't stand the look of her face. :p

I can think of quite a few decent films I put off watching because it had someone I disliked in it, only to discover how completely wrong I was. Sometimes it's best not to have any preconceptions.

And statistics don't mean shit.

^Yeah, I mean I hate that skank Penelope Cruz, but I really love Blow and Vanilla Sky, ya know, and I'm glad I gave it a chance!

you're right, stats don't mean shit in something as completely subjective as the arts.

a lot of people consider Beethoven to be the best classical composer. but I find his melodies to be brutal on the ear.

when I think of Beethoven writing music, I think of someone who can not hear creating something in his mind like "DUM DUM DUM DAAAAAAH." truly barbaric, brutal, classical composition.

but that's just my opinion. Meryl Streep is not a bad actress by any means. she just has never intrigued me much.

I too am none too keen on her. But I caught a bit of Live Flesh the other week and thought she was pretty hilarious in those opening scenes. I kinda felt a bit guilty for continuously groaning every time she popped up on TV. She's just a nuisance. =D

I avoided Magnolia because I really dislike Tom Cruise, and much to my surprise he's actually pretty good in it. It's certainly one of his more daring roles anyway. I don't like people who play it safe. Where's the fun in that?. I also put off Eternal Sunshine because I have similar feelings of disgust towards Jim Carrey. But he was really rather brilliant in it. I like surprising myself. And it is hard admitting that you were wrong. :)

That's what I wanted to hear tbh. It's not about good or bad, it's about having an appreciation for something regardless of whether it moves you or not. I mean, I can appreciate classical music in it's artistic sense, but it's not something that I particularly like or relate to. :)

"now it's time to start judging women again!"

There's no one more sexy than a successful and confident older woman. They have found their style, their walk, everything. And they're not afraid to be the first one to flirt.

i consider her the most beautiful famous actress in the world, but that has nothing to do with repeated comments growing up and to this day that i look like i am related to her or her daughter or whatever. so nothing personal in this at all.

she is simply a jaw dropping beauty.

who would not kill for high cheek bones, sultry eyes and a pointy chin and no lips. i don't have to. :D

lol you sick bastard ;)
