I thought there would already be a thread on this most delightful show, and if there is, sorry, I couldn't find it.

But I thought it was time for a PIR thread, surely there are other Bluelighters who enjoy this show too!

I know it's cheesy, quirky, and at times embarissingly funny, but what I love most about the PIR is the fact that for the most part the producers haven't changed the look of the show. It's still got that shag-70's feel to it. I love the music, I love the silly grocery items they have people bid on (denture cream anyone), and I really think Drew Carey is doing a great job. People say there will never be anyone as good as Bob Barker, but people fail to realize that it took Bob 15-20 years to become the hosting legend that he is. Give Drew 10 years and you will get so used to seeing him on your TV he will grow on you, like Bob did.

Has anyone here ever been a contestant on this awesome show?

Me and my fiance are going to L.A in September for our honeymoon and I've been dreaming of being a contestant for as long as I can remember.

I tape every episode and watch it every day.

Man I love this show!

The Price is Right is a classic, indeed. If you were young and in high school and found yourself one day watching the Price is Right, ... then you knew you were being gleefully bad when shouting, "Fourteen-hundred, Bob!"

I used to love the show when Bob Barker hosted. When I was little, I thought he was just thecoolest and smoothest dude in the world.

As it turns out, I guess I was right. %)

Eh Drew Carey is wasted on that show. He's first and foremost a comedian, he looks absolutely bored. For some reason Bob Barker was just the perfect host for it.

I am *very* curious as to how much the big wheel actually weighs. Like, if I could give it a spin, not only what it would feel like grasping it, but how far around it would go for me. This really gets to me each time I watch the show, which is becoming rarer and rarer because of such.

it is such a surreally bad show. when i had my last son, my hubbies parents came and stayed for a few days, and i noticed they were watching it. and my husband sat and watched it too, and it like really freaked me out. i couldn't get over it, i didn't think real people who were normal, well behaved, well paid, well spoken and sane actually watched it. we had a long discussion over it. i was like really? really? you sure you actually like it?

that sums up my opinion on it.

^I completely agree. I find it astonishing with the plethora of film, television and literature out there that people actually watch this sort of garbage on a recurring basis...

I can understand getting a little kick out of watching it for like thirty seconds while channel surfing I guess, but taping every episode? ... Seriously?

Get a fucking hobby.

:)

bob was the man, he got all the chicks. think about it.... tons of models, all they cute little college girls that would come running up all bouncy and excited, he's straight pimpn'. drew has really brought that show to a halt for me. u can just tell he hates his job. dont think he is going to last. I WANNA PLAY PLINKOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

yeah, bob > drew

i haven't watched it in a long time, but it's definitely awesome. i love game shows
