Recommend another good movie per post

I wouldn't mind seeing it but none of the indie cinemas round here are playing and if it was any good they probably would be and out of principal I won't go to any of the others so guess I'll need to wait till the DVD comes out.

Oh its great.=D
Yes it fucking is..;)
Its not Citizen Kane,Vertigo,The Godfather,Taxi Driver,2001,The Maltese Falcon or Midnight Cowboy:)
But so what:D
Its fun and whats wrong with fun films every so often?

I watched "In Bruges" on Sat night, and thought it was pretty good. I normally fucking hate that wanker Colin the Cunt, but thought he was ok in this film, and the rest of the acting was top draw.

I liked In Bruges too Kid. :)

I watched the original Psycho last night, actually the first time I've seen it. It was not bad but I find old films a bit annoying. The style of acting really doesn't do it for me.

I've been watching a lot of blaxploitation recently, if anyone has any recommendations from the genre they'd be greatly appreciated :D. I'll start with a classic:

Dolemite

Dolemite Trailer

this film has some amazing lines in it!

"I'm gonna let 'em know that Dolemite is back on the scene! I'm gonna let 'em know that Dolemite is my name, and fuckin' up motha fuckas is my game! "

"You no-business, born-insecure, jock-jawed motha-FUCKA!"

Detective: Now, I know you think you're smart, see, cause you got all them flashy clothes, you got that big car there, you got all them black bitches working for you.
Dolemite: You forgot about the white ones.

terrible fight scenes, bad editing and a lot wrong with it but I couldn't recommend it more!

next on my blaxploitation to watch list is

Boss Nigger

Glengarry Glen Ross tells the powerful story of the wheelings and dealings of a small Chicago real estate office, where the name of the game is to close the deal and stay on top. The film boasts an all-star cast, including: Al Pacino; Jack Lemmon; Alec Baldwin; Ed Harris; Alan Arkin; and Kevin Spacey. Special features on the DVD include a scene index and theatrical trailer.

I'm often quick to slate Hollywood but this was superb! A tour de force of some of the best Hollywood actors performing their hearts out. The film isn't huge on story line but because the acting and dialogue are so good it makes this film absolutely superb. An out and out classic, I can't believe I've just seen it now, 5 out of 5 from me. :)

Italian director Gabriele Salvatores' (MEDITERRANEO) masterfully directs this eerie and engrossing suspense thriller involving a 10-year-old boy who lives in rural southern Italy. It is summertime and Michele (Guiseppe Cristiano) is free to spend the long sunny days riding his bike and running through the wheat fields. In fact, the wheat could be considered Michele's costar, as it often consumes the entire scope of the screen showing how Michele plays, hides, and ponders life in the vast expanses of flowing yellow stalks. Because there are only a few other children in the village Michele often plays alone, and one day he discovers a hole in the ground, obscured by wheat, where a boy his age is chained and imprisoned. The boy has clearly been starved and mistreated, yet Michele approaches him fearlessly and attempts to make friends with him. With the dreaminess that is a 10-year-old's truest treasure, Michele doesn't ask too many questions, nor does he draw conclusions about why the boy is in the hole, or who put him there. Through the expressions on young Michele's face, viewers can read his light questioning of human existence, human morality, and human rights. However, as the film draws on, subtly revealing shocking secrets about the adults in Michele's village, the beauty of this utterly simple yet deadly powerful plot come clear. I'M NOT SCARED is a moving film built on crystal clear images of the Italian sun, sky, and wheat fields; strangely offset by its startling loss-of-innocence story.

You are wrong. :)

This film is not boring, it's not some all guns blazing action film but it glues you to the screen with some amazing acting and tremendous dialogue. It's such a cool film, I couldn't take my eyes off the screen. An absolute joy to watch, I don't buy DVDs but I will buy this.

OK so after Ismene and others telling me how great Battleship Potemkin was I rented it. Sorry but I juct sould not bare to watch it. I didn't realise it was in black and white and a silent film. Regardless of that it wasn't for me.

Also watch Backbeat which centres around The Beatles gigging in Germany before they were big and the former Bass Player Stuart Sutcliffe who wasn't really interested in being in a band. It was very so so.

Did I tell you it was great spade? It's a landmark in cinema history but I dunno whether I'd recomend it for it's entertainment value :D

You certainly implied it was good I'm sure of it, you recounted your tales of you and a friend always saying "well it's good but it no Battkeship Potemkin" or similar you bastard. :D

I'm watching either Brother (another Russian film but a gangster one and it has sound and colour) or Three Colours Blue tonight.

I'm gonna watch Last Days (Gus Van Sant) tonight, which is meant to be loosely based on the final days of Kurt Cobains life. I've enjoyed most of his fims so far so I've been looking forward to this.
