I had planned this day for weeks, I knew that during my Christmas break I would try them for the first time. Prior to the trip I have read a lot of experience reports on mushrooms. I have read reports about glowing experiences but also bad trips and even disasters. I knew very well what could happen.
So, I did it. I was at home with 2 friends. They were experienced with mushrooms. At 10:00pm, we all ate one gram. The taste isn’t so bad and we mixed them with potato chips anyway so you had to know they were there. After 20 minutes of waiting, we decided to play GTA3. The first effects were almost like cannabis, but soon, it turned very different. I was awake, really awake, like I had drink a thousand coffees. My whole body was awakened, my eyes were so awake they could see in the dark! (I later figured it was due to the pupil dilatation) It was cool, I really liked that, but I was mad because I was expecting great visuals. In fact, I took the mushroom mostly to experience visuals. I have been in that state from 10:00pm to about 04:00am. I was then growing pretty tired and decided to go to sleep. My friends continued to play GTA3 and then slept in the empty bedrooms.
I woke up at 11:00am on Saturday, I was feeling ok. We had breakfast while playing GTA3 again. My friends asked me how was my experience, so I told them what I just wrote: it was cool but I wanted more. We decided to buy more mushrooms for the night. I figured that 3.5g would be a good dose. We ordered half an oz of mushrooms and waited while playing computer and drinking beer.
Later that day, my contact called me to tell me he had just received the mushrooms I had ordered so we drove to his place. There were some friends of mine there, music and beer, and there was so much cannabis smoke that we would get high just from breathing the air in the place. Since I was satisfied by the mushrooms I was seeing I the bag, my contact proceeded to weight the package in 3,5g dosages (we didn’t have an accurate scale, he did).
As we were about to leave to go back to my place, my contact offered us to stay and party there with the mushroom but for my first high dose experience, I preferred to be at home, just in case something goes wrong.
By midnight we were back home, we booted the computers and started playing GTA3 again (that game should have its own vault cause its so addictive
). At 00:30am, our sitter arrived so we ate the shrooms. I ate 3g pretty quickly. At about 01:00am, I was feeling weird: for one minute I had a desire to do something, that desire was stronger than anything in the world. But 2 minutes later, I didn’t give a damn about it. It happened many times during that trip. The first time that feeling came, I NEEEEEDED to watch a movie so I turned the tv on and tuned to showcase. It was some kind of strange porn movie. I didn’t fully understand what was going on in that movie, it was no ordinary movie either. After a few minutes watching I figured 2 things, first, it was about to end, the second, I wasn’t sure the girls were really girls in that movie…. The end of the movie was pretty amazing, there was fireworks and the images changed very quickly. It was getting real and I was getting afraid of those fake girls so I decided to go sit at the table and have a drink. At this time, I knew I was in my apartment but everything seemed to be new. Then, I looked at the computer and it started moving ! It was no big deal, just some kind of optical glitch but I was getting very excited. After those drinks I needed to empty my bladder so I went to the bathroom. First surprise: the toilet is only 20% of the size it used to be, but what the hell, it cant wait, I’ll just aim as accurately as possible. Second surprise, I’m not alone. There is a strange dude in the bathroom. I don’t really know who he is nor what he wants but he seems to be looking at me… Getting pissed about that stranger looking at me, I decided to look back. My eyes were looking at his while I was closing up. The dude did the same thing. Then, I don’t know why but I just decided to disconnect, I closed my eyes and my forehead touched the stranger’s forehead. Nothing could have prepare me for what I was about to experience... I felt like all the atoms of my body were connecting with the strange dude, who was himself, connected to the entire universe. I was not afraid. It lasted for a few minutes. All I saw was darkness but I could clearly feel in all the parts of my body that I was slowly moving toward something, perhaps the reason of my presence on earth. Suddenly, I was violently pulled back : my sitter was getting worried about seeing me in what looked like a coma with my face against the mirror and talking like I was connecting to the universe. At this time I didn’t really care but today, while writing this report, it makes me sad, I would have liked to go farther, much farther.
After that, I decided to go and visit my apartment: everything seemed different so I thought it would be fun. I got in my sister’s bedroom and looked trough the window. There was a lot of snow behind the apartment. The outside was beautiful, it appeared almost day clear but it was 03:00am. I looked at the snow, but it no longer looked like snow, it was water ! I been looking at the waves for quite some time, until my sitter came wondering what I was doing again. Our sitter was prepared to handle a bad trip and pretty much any injuries we could sustain but he had never experienced mushrooms so we talked together and I told him what I was experiencing. He understood as far as somebody who never tried them could. From then, he didn’t put a stop to my mystical trips but still kept an eye on me and my friend, tough those two were still quietly playing GTA3…
For 4 long hours, I felt like I was in a roller coaster, I had time where I was feeling normal, awake like the day before but still normal. But then, I had this feeling that something was different and the visuals came back along with a pleasurable feeling, expanding trough my body, almost like after a nitrous trip. During those hours, we made a mushroom tea but we had only about 1g left for 3 people so it wasn’t a big deal. We also smoke weed but it had absolutely no effect, I didn’t even feel the usual warm feeling of THC rushing to my brain trough my blood.
At 05:00am I was still in the roller coaster, but I was getting tired of it, I was getting very sleepy but still had a lot of energy. I wanted it to stop already so I could go to sleep. So I told my friends and my sitter that I was actually going in my bed and told them wich beds they could use in my apartment. Then the problems began. The first 10 minutes in my bed, I was feeling pretty ‘normal’ and my only thoughts were that when I would wake up, it would be over and I would be ok.
Then I started to hear some noise, I didn’t really know where they came from so I tried to listen to them carefully. I found that it was traffic noises, cars, pedestrians, cops. It didn’t took me look to figure that it was GTA3 sounds so I went in the living room to tell my friends to shut the damn sound off but nobody was playing or making noise. At this point, my stomach ordered me to go back to bed. For one full hour, wich seemed an eternity to me I couldn’t sleep. I was alone in the dark but I felt like I was standing in the middle of the traffic in a big city. I thought I was going to lose it and do some crazy things but I remembered that mushrooms couldn’t last for more than 8 hours and it was soon to be the time we spent with them. I woke up 6 hours later, my 2 friends were gone at their place and my sitter was about to do so. He asked me if everything was all right and fortunately, except for my upset stomach, yes it was so I thanked him and he left.
I was not tired but I didn’t have much energy in my body except for my stomach that was really upset. I forced myself to clean the house and it didn’t take too long. There was fortunately no major spill or anything broken.
That Sunday night, I figured I was ‘gone for 2 days’ . 2 full days of debauchery and mind alteration. I explained the traffic noises I heard by the 48h of almost non-stop GTA3.
